As part of their ongoing Emmy campaign, Netflix held a panel for A Series of Unfortunate Events, at their FYSee Space in Beverly Hills, with executive producer and director Barry Sonnenfeld, and stars Neil Patrick Harris, Alfre Woodard and K. Todd Freeman. Based on the book series of the same name by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler), A Series of Unfortunate Events covers the sad tale of the Beaudelaire orphans, as they are pursued by the rotten Count Olaf, who’s out to steal their fortune. Woodard described the tone of the books, which work for kids and adults. “It...

Netflix To Release Three Marvel Series Next Year

The release schedule for Netflix’s Marvel series, thus far, has been two a year. Starting in 2015 with Daredevil and Jessica Jones, we’ve seen two series released a year, bring both Luke Cage and Iron Fist into the hero mix as well. However, though we’ve heard before that Netflix was considering moving to three Marvel series releases a year, it now appears next year, 2018, is definitely the year that this little miracle happens. In fact, it’s been all but confirmed that we could get three series this year, with The Punisher possibly being released in November. As we said,...

Netflix’s SENSE8 Has Been Cancelled

This is really unfortunate for fans. The Wachowski’s beloved Netflix show Sense8 has been cancelled. The diverse and represented show followed 8 strangers who became “sensates”, people who are emotionally and mentally linked to one another. While fans cried out to not pull the plug, the streaming giant has called it off. After it’s second season, the sci-fi show was able to amass 23 episodes spanning over 16 cities in 13 countries. If that’s not diversity, I don’t know what is. The show was beloved not only for it’s national diversity but it’s LGBTQ representation. RELATED: NETFLIX: What Is Arriving and Leaving...

NETFLIX: What Is Arriving and Leaving JUNE 2017

Wait! How is it already June?? A new month means a new Netflix lineup! Before the new arrivals and list of departures, GGA wanted to point your attention at these three new-to-Netflix shows: 1. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season four of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD was the most action packed and strongest season. The Ghost Rider, Robbie Reyes, joined the Agents in a fight to stop the Darkhold magic from destroying the world. The Agents also received help from Dr. Holden Radcliffe and his Artificial Intelligent Digital Assistant, or AIDA, to defeat the Darkhold magic. Or so they thought. The...

BLACK MIRROR Netflix Panel Talks Politics, Chocolate, and Jodie Foster

As part of their Emmy campaign, Netflix has opened their FYSee (aka FYC, “for your consideration”) space, featuring props, costumes, and cast and creator panels from some of their most popular (and hopefully Emmy nominated) shows. I recently attended the panel for Black Mirror, with creator Charlie Brooker, executive producer Annabel Jones, and actress Mackenzie Davis, star of the much beloved episode “San Junipero.” Brooker conceived of the show back in 2009/2010, and had always been a fan of shows like The Twilight Zone and Tales of the Unexpected. Thematically, he realized the technology was the thing that was...

Watch Netflix’s Crazy Compelling Official OKJA Trailer

The new Netflix original movie from director Bong Joon Ho (Snowpiercer), Okja, has been a source of intrigue for me for weeks.  Well, Netflix just upped their game.  They released the official full-length trailer Thursday, and it is addictive.  I’ve watched it six times.   RELATED:  Netflix Launches Oddball OKJA Marketing Campaign Featuring Tilda Swinton There is so much right with this movie on the surface.  Tilda Swinton plays a corporate gene-splicing ‘conservationist’ meat producer who want to save the world with giant meat.  There’s a little girl that loves her giant super pig.  There’s a giant super pig....

Netflix Is Producing a WITCHER TV Series

IGN has broken the news that the popular Witcher series will be made into a television show on Netflix. The Polish powerhouse series will seek creator and writer Andrzej Sapkowski‘s guidance as creative consultant. Sapkowski’s book series has taken off more than the author could ever imagine. Most notably – the game series by CD Projekt Red has brought the story of Geralt of Rivia to the forefront of many people’s minds. Unfortunately, the author receives no profit for the game nor does he have input. So this Netflix series will be closer to his vision of the story. “I’m...
