THE HANDMAID’S TALE Recap: (S01E03) Late

This recap of Episode 3 of THE HANDMAID’S TALE is chocked full of {SPOILERS}. ***If you haven’t watched yet, go do that and then come back here. ;)*** The episode opens on Ofglen (the original one, not the new one we met at the end of the last episode who we decided is actually Alma from the Red Centre) being led by guards down a bright hallway to a locked cell, with some sort of mask over her mouth. Offred […]

This recap of Episode 2 of THE HANDMAID’S TALE is chocked full of {SPOILERS}. ***If you haven’t watched yet, go do that and then come back here. ;)*** The episode opens on Offred staring at the ceiling in the Commander and Mrs. Waterford’s bedroom, as she lies on their bed, in the midst of a “ceremony.” If you’ll remember, we learned in the first episode that “ceremony” is code for “threesome in which none of the three people want to […]

  • The Dead Are Rising in This Promo for the Next Episode of CLASS (S01E03) “Nightvisiting”

The Dead Are Rising in This Promo for the Next Episode of CLASS (S01E03) “Nightvisiting”

Greetings, Coal Hill students! Are we enjoying Class so far? I know I am. What I find interesting is that it’s supposedly a show aiming at the young adult demographic – the “less mature” version of Doctor Who. Yet, Class is graphic and sometimes heavy-handed on the gore, which is the opposite of its parent show. Not to mention the heavy themes we’re seeing coming into play. For example… This week, we saw the repercussions of the events of prom play out. Poor Ram was […]

CLASS Recap: (S01E02) The Coach With The Dragon Tattoo

Welcome back, companions of the Doctor! Class returned this week with another thrilling and chilling episode. Not to mention, the gore level was dialed up to an eleven. So, for those of you who are squeamish, you may want to sit this one out. We had action, adventure, mystery, romance, comedy – you name it, chances are we witnessed it unfold. I’m thoroughly enjoying the monster of the week and the season-long story arcs that are intertwined. It’s certainly a method that’s […]

After a year of nail-biting anticipation,  The X-Files is getting an 11th season on FOX.  Fans rejoice! The Case for Idris Elba to be the 13th Doctor

I know that the rumor mill says Idris Elba is the next James Bond, and that would be very nice and all, but I’d rather see him piloting the TARDIS than an Aston Martin. RELATED: Read Our Four Casting Cases for the 13th Doctor! We’ve gotten used to seeing Idris Elba in space, thanks to the Thor movies. When he returns as Heimdall in Thor: Ragnarok, he’ll apparently have more to do. (Warning: possible spoilers if you click here.) We know […]

The Case for Dev Patel to be the 13th Doctor

Look, I like Kris Marshall. Sure, his character in Love Actually looks creepier and more sexist with each passing year. And sure, I’ve only really seen him do one thing as an actor: bungle about. But he seems nice. My major argument against him as the 13th Doctor is that he feels so much like more of the same. If the internet rumors are right that he’s the one, I have a hard time imagining that being exciting. Dev Patel […]

The Case for Miranda Hart to be the 13th Doctor

Although I started by putting forth Gwendoline Christie for the 13th Doctor, my real first choice would be Miranda Hart. There’s something about her comic stylings that strikes me as very much in keeping with the personality of recent Doctors. If there’s any chance of having a woman as the next Doctor instead of another bumbling white guy, maybe we can compromise by choosing a slightly bumbling woman? Maybe a six-foot, one-inch tall woman with terrific comic timing? RELATED: Read Our […]
