TREKSGIVING Is Back on BBC America – Star Trek All Thanksgiving Weekend Long!

Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday. We Americans proudly spend it with family and friends. We eat, drink, catch up on the past year, laugh and treasure the people around us. That is, until Aunt Denise says something really uncomfortable and then Cousin Kyle brings up the election AGAIN and then everyone is yelling while doing dishes with bellies so full we may vomit all over innocent doggy, Max, ruining the previous day’s expensive grooming. RELATED: 5 Geeky Dishes to Spruce Up Any Thanksgiving Feast  BBC America knows this and once again will be airing Treksgiving! Beginning on Thanksgiving, the channel will...

New BLACK PANTHER Character Posters Reveal Beauty, Strength and Purpose

I went to see Thor: Ragnarok opening weekend. It was amazing. You know what else was amazing? When the entire sold-out audience stood up and cheered after the Black Panther trailer played before the film. The trailer was electric, exciting and when it was over, I felt like I was out of breath. If I felt this way during a trailer, I can’t imagine how I’ll feel watching the Marvel movie but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be some kind of awesome. Today, in a wonderfully coordinated marketing move, eleven Black Panther character posters were released on Twitter. Most...

Writer FABIAN NICIEZA Talks Cable and Deadpool, Gambit and Black Panther: Soul of a Machine

The fictional African country of Wakanda is one of, if not the most technologically advanced and richest countries on the planet. The country is home to a huge vibranium source, brilliant scientists and, of course, Black Panther himself, King T’Challa. With this history, it comes as no surprise that Marvel Custom Solutions and Lexus teamed up for the tremendously anticipated Black Panther film due out in February. If you go look at that amazing Black Panther trailer again (and you should), you’ll see a shiny Lexus. Yes, this is product placement, but if you think about it, the two...

Ep 55 – Actor, Writer and Killjoys’ TAMSEN MCDONOUGH on Kneel Before Aud

In episode 55 of Kneel Before Aud, I chat with the loveliest of persons, actor Tamsen McDonough. For the last three seasons of the hit Syfy show Killjoys, Tamsen has voiced Lucy, the lovable and loyal A.I of the space ship that carries Dutch, D’avin and John on their adventures throughout the Quad. Lucy has grown in such popularity that she is often referred to as the fourth Killjoy by fans. When I reached out to Tamsen for this interview, she suggested we do the interview on ‘National I Love Lucy Day’ and that’s exactly what we did. We, of...

BB-8 Is Not Okay with Porgs in Hilarious Stephen Colbert Bit

The anticipation leading up to the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer was palpable. We here at Geek Girl Authority were all online together waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Hurry up, football! We have galactic matters to which we must attend! Of course, when the trailer played, our online excitement stopped and our Slack app was silent. Twitter and Facebook went dark as we turned our attention to the most important thing happening in the world. We watched with baited breath and then all of a sudden, there was a collective Internet shriek when a porg appeared next to Chewbacca....

This. Made. My. Day. We’ve heard legend that Harrison Ford can be a grumpy fella. And with the intense interview circuit Ford has been doing with Ryan Gosling for Blade Runner 2049, who can blame him. So, it was an absolute joy and hoot to see Ford and Gosling totally lose it in this interview for a British show called This Morning.  Major props to interviewer Alison Hammond for setting the tone. She actually downright steals the show with her magnetic personality. The actors never had a chance. Hammond begins by showing Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling square cocktail...

Itching For Some Fun? Go VIRAL

I just played Viral, a 2-5 player game recently published by Arcane Wonders and designed by Gil d’Orey and Antonio Sousa Lara. In Viral, players are viruses trying to infect different body parts of the host (the board) represented beautifully as the innards of a human body. The organs on the board are separated into 5 zones, connected by veins, where players place and move their pieces in a battle for area control.  The game mechanics are pretty simple. There are 6 rounds in the game and each round has two turns. Each turn, each player will secretly choose...
