Glass is being filmed, everyone! In a picture released on director and writer M. Night Shyamalan‘s Twitter we have learned that the start of filming began today. On the slate we see that first shot of the movie and first take was done. The long awaited sequel to the stellar hit, Unbreakable, is finally on it’s way.

With the success of his most recent film, Split, the power of Shyamalan has returned. Teased at the very end, we learned that the film took place in the same universe as Unbreakable did. And now, seventeen years later, the story of Elijah Price and David Dunn will continue with a new player in the mix.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Price, or as he’s better known as Mr. Glass, may have orchestrated the events of Split. The article states that in Glass, Price will “emerge as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men”. The men being referring to is Dunn and Kevin Wendell Crumb aka The Beast, who Dunn is tracking down. There is no detail on how Mr. Glass and The Beast have come together but it is still very early days.

Shyamalan released a series of tweets over the month, expressing his excitement on filming. He shared that they scouted a comic shop, had rehearsals earlier in the week, and he even shared an image of Samuel L. Jackson‘s character on a glass. But he also shared his doubts, worried about the project. “Feel nervous and excited. Want to make a small intricate film with a big idea at its center” he had said, concluding the tweet with the hashtag of Glass. Due to his decline in box office numbers and being nearly scorned from cinema, it’s understandable that he’d be nervous. But, we’re rooting for his success.
