The Electronic Entertainment Expo, otherwise known as E3, has remained the premier event for the video games industry since it’s debut in 1995. For the past 25 years, this Expo has grown into an incredible culmination of announcements, achievements, and celebration of video game culture. And for its 25th Anniversary, the ESA has decided to reimagine E3 in a whole new way with a fresh new title: E3 2020: EVERYONE PLAYS.

What to Expect at the Expo

The two biggest focuses of this revamped E3 appear to be spectacle and streaming. Gamers, fans, and industry members alike can expect to see celebrities, guest gamers, and digital programming LIVE on the show floor. Additionally, E3 2020 will feature new experimental zones, stage experiences, and live events that will highlight the latest titles and innovations in the gaming industry. One of these events will be the debut of an all-new show floor experience that will be streamed worldwide. Said Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of the ESA, “We are working to make E3 2020 a more interactive and immersive experience with a show floor that will amplify our exhibitors, their innovations, and announcements.”

There have also been speculations regarding which companies would not be attending E3 this year. It has already been confirmed that Sony will not have a presence at E3 once again. And most recently, it was unknown if Nintendo would return to the Expo. However, the ESA released a list of several of the companies committed to E3 2020. The companies that have confirmed include Nintendo, Xbox, Bethesda SoftworksSEGACapcomSquare Enix, Take-Two Interactive SoftwareBANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc.Warner Bros. Games, and Ubisoft among others.

Badges and Show Hours

In addition, the ESA will be offering the same three badge levels as they did in 2019: the Industry Badge (for qualified industry attendees), the Premium Badge and the Gamer Badge. Likewise, E3 2020 will be open solely for Industry Badge holders on Tuesday, June 9th (11 AM-6 PM). And all Badge holders will have access to the Expo on June 10th and 11th (10 AM – 6 PM). Registration for E3 2020: EVERYONE PLAYS will open on February 15th at www.E3Expo.com

Ultimately, we will have to wait and see how these new aspects and features will affect E3 2020. And with a new generation of consoles on the horizon, this E3 is surely to be a memorable one.
