This is it! The beginning of the end. Today we got the first trailer for the third and final film in the franchise, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. Drama, love and fun are abound in our first look at the film. And of course, dragons.

Hiccup has realized his dream of creating a dragon and viking uptopia. Living together in peace after years and years of fighting. But one night, Toothless discovers a female Fury, a Light Fury, and he’s instantly attracted to her. He does some silly mating dances to try to win her over, though she teleports away. Yup, apparently Light Furys can teleport! Things seem to be going great but utopia is about to break. Grimmel, a calm and villanous pirate, has come to hunt the final Night Fury and will destroy everything to get his way. Realizing the dragons are in trouble, the village needs to come together to save dragon-kind.

So what does this have to do with a Hidden World? It appears there’s an entire world of dragons hidden away from humans. And seeing how the beginning starts with Hiccup recounting that there were dragons when he was a boy, it may mean the dragons they’ve bonded with will have found a new home. What does this mean for Toothless and Hiccup’s relationship? We’ll have to see when the film comes out.
