Sci-fi fans be ready! According to Variety, Close Encounters of the Third Kind is coming back to theaters. For an entire week, fans will be able to watch the film on the big screen. After 40 years, now is the time to relive the film.

On July 3rd, Sony uploaded a strange YouTube video titled “This Means Something“. In it, we see radar tracking planes while air traffic control monitors the UFO. Inter-cut with footage from the film in black and white, giving off a very creepy vibe. Fans had speculated that we were going to see a reboot of the film. But, it will actually just be a re-release.

The Steven Spielberg project is beloved by many. It’s most memorable scene is one all sci-fi fans will recognize – communicating with the mothership via musical tones. And now those who had missed seeing it in theaters in 1977 will now be able to! It’s unknown at the current time whether the quality will be updated. While the 40th anniversary of the film will be in November, it heads to theaters starting September 1st.
