The sci-fi epic is director/writer Luc Besson‘s passion project. Based on the French comic Valérian and Laureline, it focuses on space and time traveling special operatives. They’re tasked with a dangerous mission set on Alpha, the city of a thousand planets. The peaceful and productive society is at risk and it’s up to these two to stop it.

Production company STX Entertainment released a clip from the film showing off the vastness of Alpha. Not only are there over 5,000 spoken languages, but it’s home to over 300 million beings that live there. There’s aquatic life, a gas-inhabited section, a robotic sector and of course, humans. Welcome to Alpha!
