In November 2023, news hit that Blue Bloods was coming to an end with Season 14. After almost a decade and a half, fans are gearing up to say goodbye to one of the most famous families on TV. The Reagan family has been a massive part of law enforcement onscreen and will surely be missed.

“Blue Templar” (Season 1 Episode 22)

On Blue Bloods Season 1 Episode 22, “Blue Templar,” Jamie (Will Estes) has suspicions regarding his brother’s killing. He shares them with his family. Joe’s death is a big part of the show since it affected the family so much. It is in this episode that his killing gets closure.

In the meantime, Frank (Tom Selleck) is working to expose the Blue Templar, so he decides not to report a drug bust connected to dirty cops. The investigation, however, leads to the ring leaders of the group.

“My Aim Is True” (Season 8 Episode 22)

One way or another, the Reagan family always ends up working or discussing their cases. Many episodes have scenes that center around their big family table, where family and work issues are always discussed. This sometimes leads to them solving cases a bit faster.

On Blue Bloods Season 8 Episode 22, “My Aim Is True,” Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and his partner Baez (Marisa Ramirez) are investigating the drive-by shootings of six men. The men had been wrongly convicted and recently released from prison, so the detectives believe their murder is connected to this.

“Family Secrets” (Season 10 Episode 19)

Even if they aren’t yet cops or lawyers, every member of the Reagan family has a strand of detective DNA. That is what pushes Sean (Andrew Terraciano) in Blue Bloods Season 10 Episode 19, “Family Secrets,” to figure out who the mystery person is that matched with him in a DNA network. The match says this is an unknown relative.

But the Reagan family isn’t the only one with secrets and history on the show. On the same episode, a woman approaches Frank to ask him to transfer her son to a safer assignment.

“The End” (Season 11 Episode 15)

Even though we never officially met Joe because he was killed as part of the Reagan family history before the time the show started, we do get to meet his son, Joe Hill (Will Hochman). He was the unknown relative whose DNA matched Sean’s through the DNA network on Blue Bloods Season 10 Episode 19, “Family Secrets.”

On Blue Bloods Season 11 Episode 15, “The End,” Danny tells his family that he discovered Joe Hill is working a very dangerous undercover case. He is working for the ATF, trying to bring down a gun-running organization.

“Justifies the Means” (Season 11 Episode 16)

One thing about the Reagan family is that they never leave family members alone or behind when they struggle. That is why Joe’s undercover assignment takes more than one episode, as his family gets involved.

On Blue Bloods Season 11 Episode 16, “Justifies the Means,” the family works to prevent Joe Hill from getting killed. This reminds everyone of how his father died in the line of duty, and they try to avoid it. They suspect Hill’s cover has been blown.
