Zachary Levi is the nerd’s champion when it comes to San Diego Comic Con. Yesterday in a heart wrenching video, he announced his popular event, NerdHQ, will not be happening this year. Things aren’t all bad though, as he has another gig during the popular convention.

According to Deadline, the Syfy network announced that Levi will be hosting their live event all weekend. Levi shared his excitement about hosting. “I am beyond thrilled to be collaborating with Syfy during such a powerful year for their network. As always, we are hard at work trying to bring the fans the most entertaining experience and content possible. My hope is that this year in San Diego will be one of the most memorable ever.” The event is said to give fans watching at home an inside look at breaking news, celebrity interviews, and “on the ground” interactions.

For those unaware, Levi hosted NerdHQ, a live interview event separate but coincided with SDCC. Because of this, he was able to have incredible guests and host great interviews. The panels were always fun and light-hearted, making it down-to-earth. It appears that the convention didn’t like the ticketed event so they weren’t able to host NerdHQ. It’s highly unfortunate. We can only hope with Levi hosting and on board as executive producer of Syfy’s live event that we’ll have NerdHQ fun while doing so.
