Our favorite foul-mouthed bada** is coming back. Jessica Jones‘ second season may not be for another couple months, but we have a new image from Empire to keep us sated for a little while. The image shows our girl lifting something extremely large and metal on a back road. Most of the object is cut off so we can’t see what it is – a vehicle or even larger than that perhaps. But Jessica’s face shows that she may be in big trouble. 

Krysten Ritter will return as the private-eye (and part time superhero) for a third time. Jessica became a member of The Defenders over the summer but will be back in her own sophomore effort. A season that will dig even deeper into her past. Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg teased that there will be even more layers to our hard-drinking heroine.

We’re always digging deeper into Jessica’s character and this season we’re peeling back even more layers, revealing more about the experiences that have shaped her present-day life.

Which means we can expect more from one of the best MCU villains – Kilgrave (David Tennant). Their dynamic was the most compelling and disturbing relationships explored on television. And from previously released photos, we know that he will continue to haunt her from the grave. While this photo doesn’t tell us any of that, it’s exciting to think of what it could mean for her future.
