The Walking Dead: World Beyond opened up the world to the Civic Republic and things just keep getting worse. In “Returning Point,” Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) closes in on the Bennetts and starts eliminating security threats.

Last week, Huck, aka Jennifer Malik (Annet Mahendru) found out her worst fear was true. Her mother, Colonel Elizabeth Kubrick (Julia Ormond), killed thousands of people when she she sent in an empty column into Omaha and Campus Colony. What’s even worse is that she killed everyone first by gassing them. All in the name of science.

And the last time we saw Will (Jelani Alladin) and Elton (Nicolas Cantu), they were planning to infiltrate the facility. Dev (Abubakr Ali) took Will to the facility and was shot in the head.

And as Hope (Alexa Mansour) grows closer to Mason (Will Meyers), she found out he’s dad is in the military. In fact, his dad is the Major General.

Two years ago, Elizabeth made a secret arrangement with Indira (Anna Khaja) when Indira mentioned that she might be dying soon. Elizabeth promised to provide her with dialysis equipment and medicine to keep Indira’s kidneys functioning. This was also part of their compact with the CRM. That compact is now in jeopardy.

Will returns to the community with a solemn look on his face. One look is all Indira needs to know that her son is dead. Asha (Madelyn Kientz) sees it too.

At the facility, Leo (Joe Holt) tells the other researchers about what the CRM is up to. He says they need to escape with their research if they want to survive. They all know the CRM will not let them go. Leo says he already has a plan. All of the researchers agree that they have to leave.

Jennifer told Dennis (Maximilian Osinski) what’s going on. Now he works with Silas (Hal Cumpston) to help the group get ready to escape. Jennifer risked her safety by going to the Dennis for ammo and equipment. She’s concerned because Jadis  can trace it all back to Dennis. He’s okay with whatever happens.

Iris (Aliyah Royale) and Hope pack for their escape. There is a lot at stake with as many people as they are trying to take with them. Iris says they will make it work. They will do whatever they have to do to win.

Jennifer tells Leo and Felix (Nico Tortorella) that she will try to get to the CR to let them know what the military is doing. She’s going to try to find a resistance within the CRM to get to the people she needs to talk to. She hopes in the end, she’ll be with Dennis.

Dennis and Silas are on their way to talk to Indira about their plan. Dennis didn’t tell the others anything about what was going on. He sent them to another station to keep them safe. Dennis asks Silas why he didn’t say anything. Silas says because Dennis and Jennifer are “them.” Dennis admits he lost perspective believing what the CRM fed him. He was lost just like Silas. Their conversation is cut short by approaching empties. The empties are in the only path to Indira’s community so they have to wait for the dead to pass.

Jennifer meets up with Jadis to talk about the plan for Portland. Jadis found something more important in the key card access reports. She thinks Leo is keeping more secrets. She wants to use Iris and Hope to keep Leo in line. They leave to retrieve the girls.

Will explains what happened to Dev. Indira doesn’t blame Will, she blames herself. She admits that she had a secret agreement with Elizabeth. And because she was so selfish, her son is dead. The community is no longer safe. They have to leave and once they get somewhere safe, Indira says she will step down as their leader. Brody (Lee Spencer) leaves immediately after hearing Indira’s plans.

Elton tries to console Asha. She says Dev was a lot like Elton, questioning everything. He was still trying to figure things out and she wonders if he ever did in the end. Elton says for some people it takes facing the end to know.

Jennifer is about to contact iris and Hope to let them know that Jadis and her guards are on their way to get them. They have to start their plan now. They haven’t had a chance to contact Elton and Will, but there’s no time. Jadis and her guards arrive at the Bennetts’ apartment but it’s empty. The girls get out just in time. Hope sends iris to get the others and runs the other direction for a quick errand.

Lt. Frank Newton (Robert Palmer Watkins) tells Jadis that Leo is not in his lab and Felix is not at his post. Jadis orders an evacuation drill for civilian personnel. She thinks it will show her how deep the rot has spread.

Leo and the other researchers make their way to the designated evacuation sites. Leo finds Felix, Iris and Percy (Ted Sutherland). Everyone is there, but Hope. Hope finds Mason and asks him to go with her. He hesitates, but she says it’s a matter of life and death.

Newton gives Jadis a roster of civilians that have checked in. The Bennetts, the research team and their security detail have not checked in. Jadis orders a lockdown to look for them.

Iris and Leo wait for Hope outside and the lockdown begins. Hope and Mason show up just before the doors close. Once inside, Felix and Percy tie Mason up.

Newton and his men find the Bennetts in the bio-containment unit. They have to wait for a full system update to get into the unit. Meanwhile, Leo and Felix start breaking the ground to start digging a hole. Will watches from afar and sees an empty walking around in the next room. Hope says the CRM isn’t what he thinks it is. He realizes why she took him. Hope says they they are going to use him as leverage and once they get what the want, they will let him go. No one will hurt him.

Brody shows up at the facility to talk to Elizabeth, but he gets Jadis instead. He tells her about Elizabeth supplying Indira with medial equipment. And says that Indira is working with the Bennetts to get them out of the facility. Jadis is convinced that the Bennetts must be dealt with immediately.

Will tells Indira of his dream to grow old with Felix. He says it’s selfish but it’s not wrong. And she’s not wrong to want to live for her children. Asha and Elton tell Indira that Brody went to the facility to make a deal with the CRM. The CRM drives into the community and forces all of the residents to gather at gunpoint. Will is the only one who gets away.

Jennifer confronts Brody, saying he killed his community. Brody thinks he has a right to make a deal with the CRM just like Indira did.mHe threatens to tell Jadis about Jennifer’s role in helping to harbor the Bennetts. She has until Jadis returns to her office to find a way to secure him a safe place within the facility. Jennifer kills him instead. When Jadis returns, Jennifer says Brody threatened to go to the Civic Republic and tell them the truth about Omaha. Jennifer saw him as a security threat. She says he could be lying about Indira

Indira asks to speak to Elizabeth, she gets Jadis instead. Indira pleads with Jadis, saying they can take her. She only asks that they let the community live. Jadis says she was like Indira once in leading a small community. Small communities are always taken over by larger more powerful communities. She thinks Indira’s vision is lovely, but it doesn’t portray the real world. She doesn’t see the CRM’s vision so they can’t let any of them live.

Jennifer tries to speak on the community’s behave, but Jadis orders that the entire community dies. The CRM soldiers prepare to fire on the residents. Elton wraps his pinky around Asha’s and says it’s going to be okay. Will jumps out with a gun and starts shooting. The CRM soldiers start shooting in Will’s direction,. Dennis shows up and starts shooting from another direction. The CRM shoot toward him. Silas starts shooting from another direction. Dennis uses his CRM radio to order the soldiers to fall back and take cover.

As the soldiers take cover, Indira tells everyone to get somewhere safe. Some people start grabbing weapons. Indira picks up a rifle and starts shooting at the soldiers. Silas picks up a CRM rifle and starts shooting. The conflict ends when Dennis takes a grenade and throws it at the soldiers who are all huddled together.

Silas tells everyone that Iris and Hope are escaping. Dennis tells Silas to get the supplies and get to the rendezvous point. And to be ready. Will asks what the plan is. Dennis doesn’t answer because he’s bleeding out. He’s been shot.

Iris and Hope look over the map. They map out a path to freedom. The CRM will be able to enter in 12 minutes. They grab everything and everyone and prepare to leave.

Jadis assumes the team she sent to the community are dead. As for the Bennetts, she assumes they dug a hole to the old mining tunnels, then uses an explosive to prevent the CRM from following.

Jadis tells Jennifer where the Bennetts are headed. She also says all of the research has bene wiped. They took it all with them. Jadis is sending officers at every exit point to catch the Bennetts. She orders them to kill the Bennetts and the researchers. She wants to make an example of them so no one forgets how dangerous the world is.
