It’s a very sad day for comics. Co-creator of Doctor Strange and Spider-Man, Steve Ditko has passed away at 90. We learned the news from THR.
The legendary artist was crucial to the success and especially the look of everyone’s favorite web slinger. He’s the one behind the colors, the eyes and even the web slingers of Spider-Man. The latest incarnation, played by Tom Holland, has eyes inspired by Ditko’s creation. And the incredible imagery he created with Doctor Strange was unlike anything people have seen. He was also important in the creation of many other characters in both Marvel and DC.
While Stan Lee gets a lot of credit for these characters, Ditko deserves just as much. Our condolances go out to his family and friends for their loss.

Steve Ditko was true to his own ideals. He saw things his own way, and he gave us ways of seeing that were unique. Often copied. Never equalled. I know I'm a different person because he was in the world. pic.twitter.com/2GFSA86Btj
