Evil is rising in the new trailer for the film Evil Dead Rise. Prepare for a brand new take on a horror classic with this latest edition to the Evil Dead franchise. The trailer gives all of the creepy vibes and we even get an ode to the iconic chainsaw scene. Here are our thoughts.

About the Trailer

In Evil Dead Rise, the horrors move from the classic forest setting to the city. Two sisters attempt a reunion that gets violently derailed by the Necronomicon and its terrible secrets. When one sister becomes possessed, it is up to the other sibling and her niece to save everyone.

The trailer introduces viewers to the main characters and the setting. As it starts, we see a person walking into a kitchen and lighting up the stove. The trailer gives a similar feel to the 2013 Evil Dead remake. One of my biggest unpopular horror opinions is that I love the 2013 remake.

This film, much like those before it, asks the audience a simple question. What would you do if a demon possessed your loved one? Would you do whatever it takes to end the madness, or would you fall to the thing wearing your loved one like clothes?

The trailer showcases the effects, which look fantastic. I will say that this film seems to pull inspiration from, not only the other movies in the franchise but also the popular horror film, The GrudgeThis likeness is particularly noticeable in the scene shown in the trailer when the possessed individual crawls on the ceiling.
