The new trailer for Rian Johnson’s Knives Out is providing more clues in the whodunit comedy.  And yet, we still don’t know who did it. In fact, the family isn’t so sure there was a murder.. But Daniel Craig is.

Craig plays Detective Benoit Blanc.  Blanc and Lt. Elliott (LaKeith Stanfield) are investigating the possible murder of best selling author Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) on his 85th birthday.

In the new Knives Out trailer, Blanc and Elliott interview Thrombey’s family and staff as they all insist Thrombey committed suicide.  The family gathers for the will reading and Blanc discovers family secrets and lies. Blanc is determined to find the killer despite someone trying to thwart his efforts.

There is a lot of emphasis on Thrombey’s grandson, Ransom (Chris Evans), who left the birthday party early and didn’t show up to the funeral.  The troublemaker is the obvious choice though.  The trailer suggests that Thrombey’s nurse Marta (Ana De Armas) may know more than she’s telling.  As a fan of Clue I have to admit, this movie looks like a lot of fun. As a fan of Chris Evans, I’m most excited to watch him stir up some trouble for once.

Here is the synopsis:

When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death.

Knives Out also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Riki Lindhome, Jaeden Martell, Noah Segan and Edi Patterson.
