Variety is reporting that Disney+ is developing a series for Marvel‘s Hawkeye, a.k.a. Clint Barton, starring Jeremy Renner.  Marvel, Disney nor reps for Renner have confirmed the news.

According to the article, the series will be an adventure series as Clint Barton passes the superhero torch to Kate Bishop.  Bishop takes over the Hawkeye mantle in the Marvel Comics and eventually becomes a member of the Young Avengers.

Renner has been playing Barton for eight years, first appearing in 2011’s Thor, in an uncredited cameo.  He has appeared in three of the previous MCU films, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: Civil War.  Renner’s next appearance as Barton will be in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame at the end of this month.

This is the fourth Avengers spin off series in the works for the upcoming streaming service.  Other limited series currently in development focus on Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and Vision (Paul Bettany) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).  Each show will have six to eight episodes and produced by Marvel Studies and Kevin Feige.

We’ll keep an eye on this story as it develops.  Which characters from the MCU would you like to see get spinoff series? Let us know in the comments.

No word on when Disney+ will stream the Marvel shows.  Avengers: Endgame premieres in theaters on April 26.
