Amazon Prime Video’s warning for the new Hunters red band trailer is on point: This red band trailer contains graphic violence and cursing from a rag-tag team of Nazi hunters exacting their bloody righteous revenge. Sooo definitely don’t watch this at your work desk.

What that warning doesn’t say is that it’s insanely quirky as well. A mildly quirky vibe was conveyed with the first trailer that was released last month. Today’s red band trailer, set to The Stooges ‘Now I Wanna Be Your Dog’, turns the quirk up to 11 on this fascinating premise. 

Inspired by true events, Hunters is about a diverse band of Nazi Hunters in 1977 New York City. They are on the trail of escaped Nazis who have settled in America. And so, “they do what any bad-ass vigilante squad would do: they set out on a bloody quest for revenge and justice. But they soon discover a far-reaching conspiracy and must race against time to thwart the Nazis’ new genocidal plans.”

The rag tag team consists of a lock-picker, a spy, a soldier, a master of disguise, two weapons experts and a young Jonah whose grandmother was just murdered. Her murder is what propels Jonah to join the group when he finds out she was one of the founders. 

Interestingly, the trailer shows that the series asks the question: Is there a right way to kill Nazis? We have a feeling that the Hunters don’t care about a ‘right’ way when it comes to giving Nazis their comeuppance.

The 10 episode Hunters was created by David Weil. Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Sonar Entertainment are producing the show. It stars Logan Lerman, Al Pacino, Kate Mulvaney, Tiffany Boone, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Josh Radnor, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Jerrika Hinton, Greg Austin, and Lena Olin.
