Tom Hardy came through with his Instagram tease. The new Venom trailer is here and it’s intense! And for the first time, we see Hardy’s character Eddie Brock transform into full Venom mode!
Eddie Brock, best known as a reporter in the Spider-Man universe. This is the same Eddie Brock, but is not a spin-off of the Spider-Man movies. Instead, this will be an extension in the Marvel universe. Michelle Williams also stars as Brock’s girlfriend Anne Weying, who works for Dr. Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed). Brock is interested in Drake’s experiments that have lead to people dying. He gets the inside scoop from one of Drake’s employees played by Jenny Slate. She says Drake believes that the key to evolution is linking humans with symbiotes. That leads to some undercover work that exposes Brock to a symbiote specimen. Drake’s people track down Brock to get his property back and that’s when things get interesting.

There is a lot of action. Brock physically fights Drake and his people. And internally, he’s fighing the symbiote that trying to take over his body. Brock tries to compromise with the symbiote by saying they will only hurt bad people. But the symbiote says they will do whatever they want. Brock and the symbiote find a way to co-exist and then the OMG moment of the trailer happens. Brock fully transforms into Venom right before our eyes!
To be honest I wasn’t so sure this was a good move for Sony to make a film about Venom without Spider-Man. But after seeing this trailer, I’m super excited about watching it! See for yourself in the latest trailer below. .
