Something’s Coming

It seems that J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Company, with their incredibly heavy schedule  (you know Star Wars, Star Trek and stuff) did something on the sly. They filmed a sequel to 2008 found-footage hit Cloverfield.

Today, they released the surprise trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane and the Internet is abuzz. The trailer is quite magnificent. We see three people in a bunker – living out their days playing puzzles, reading, enjoying the game Life. All while the song “I Think We’re Alone Now” plays. The bunker shakes, the music slows to a warped and tense pace, one of the bunker dwellers (John Goodman) proves to be a bad bunkmate, there’s some cabin fever, the bunker door is unlocked – Trailer ends.

The tension in the trailer is palpable and not once did we see what, if anything, lurks outside. The other two bunker dwellers were Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and a bearded John Gallagher (The Newsroom).
