Blackjack is undoubtedly one of the most popular and best-loved card games on the planet right now. It’s played in multiple countries around the world, and many settings. From land-based casinos in places like Vegas to the best sites to play online blackjack, people can’t get enough. While blackjack is a fun game to play, players want to win too, and by watching a few of the following movies, they may increase their chances of doing that.

Rain Man

Rain Man is an iconic film which stars Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman. The story focuses on Charlie Babbitt, played by Cruise, who is a car dealer in need of money. However, when his estranged father dies, Charlie learns his father’s estate is going to the mental institution which houses his autistic brother Raymond (Hoffman). Charlie heads to where his brother lives and checks him out, and this is where their adventure and journey of discovery and understanding begins.

21

21 is one of the most popular gambling-based films of all time. It stars Kevin Spacey, who plays the role of a mathematics tutor. Based on Bringing Down the House, a fantastic book by Ben Mezrich, Spacey, in his role as Mickey Rosa, teach six students at MIT how to count cards successfully. These skills allow the group of students to head to the famous casinos of Las Vegas, the gambling mecca of the world, to bring down the house. However, with so much money on the line, plenty of danger lies ahead, and there’s some double-crossing underway.

The Gambler

The Gambler is a movie which tells the story of Jim Bennett, who is a literature professor with a gambling problem. He lends money from the wrong people to fund his gambling habit, but he does possess excellent skills as a blackjack player. However, an ultimatum comes his way, but rather than utilise his superior understanding and ability as a blackjack player; he turns to a single spin of the roulette wheel. And this ultimately leads to even more problems ensuing.

The Last Casino

The Last Casino may be similar in plot to 21, but it’s more than worth a watch. Doug Barnes, a mathematics professor, is a man who uses his card counting ability to win big when playing blackjack. However, the casino he plays at become aware of his skills and identity and rightfully bars him. Undeterred, and determined to keep on winning, Barnes creates a team of card counters from his university students. He teaches them all the skills they will need to win big and regularly, and even gives them new identities as well.

There are blackjack films aplenty available to watch, but the four above are our pick of the bunch. They do a fantastic job of showing players how they can improve their skills, while also warning them of the dangers of being reckless when playing as well, which is very important in the modern world.
