5 Questions #13 With Actress/Producer Jewel Staite

Ok Browncoats, don’t say I never did anything for you!

I am so pleased that actress and producer, Jewel Staite, agreed to play along and answer GGA’s 5 Questions. You obviously know her as Kaylee Frye from Firefly and Serenity, Dr. Jennifer Keller in Stargate SG-1, Warehouse 13, Mothman, Stargate Atlantis, Are You Afraid Of The Dark, Da Vinci’s Inquest, The X-Files, Supernatural, The L.A. Complex, and one of my favorite series, The Killing, as Caroline Swift.

I should also mention that Kaylee is always a top contender in Geek Girl Authority and Legion Of Leia’s Icon-O-Clash Tournament!

Jewel currently stars in and produced the independent movie, How To Plan An Orgy In A Small Town. Also starring some of our favorites, Katherine Isabelle, Lauren Holly, Kristian Bruun and directed by Jeremy LaLonde. This hilarious comedy is making the festival rounds and doing very well. Keep an eye out for a 2016 release!

Let’s see what she had to say!

1. What is your favorite food?

JS: I’m pregnant right now, so all of the food? Specifically, though, cheeseburgers from Apple Pan in Los Angeles, lobster pot pie from Michael Mina in Las Vegas, and Voodoo donuts. See ya, bikinis! Also Joel Robuchon makes the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had in my life. And now I need to go find them and eat them.

2.If you could live anywhere, where would it be? (any galaxy or planet, fictional or otherwise)

JS: I kinda like this planet so I’m sticking with Earth. If I could live anywhere ON this earth, it would probably be a big house on a vineyard in the Okanagan Valley, which is British Columbia’s wine country not-so-coincidentally!  I like wine.

3.Who is you favorite superhero?

JS: Iron Man. Tony Stark is slick and smart and has a great sense of humour, so basically we have a lot in common.

4. If you could make your own Lego set, what would it be?

JS: A Game of Thrones Lego set, even though someone’s probably already made one. We are big GOT fans in this house.

5. Marry, F*ck or Kill? Stephen Holder, Dr. Rodney McKay, Dr. Simon Tam

JS: I have to say fuck Stephen because that’s kind of all he’s good for- HA! He’s not a reliable relationship man, but he’s super hot and moody and all that. Plus, what’s he got under that hoodie? I would probably kill McKay because he would drive me to the brink of insanity and make me lose my mind eventually and I would kill him just to stop him from talking. And marry Simon of course. He’s loyal, he’s dreamy, he’s courageous, and he’s gorgeous. He’s also played by one of my favourite people, so I’m heavily biased, here.
