Snyder Cut fans, your day just got exponentially better. The Zack Snyder’s Justice League official trailer dropped into our collective lap on Valentine’s Day. It’s the finished product of filmmaker Zack Snyder‘s original vision for the Justice League feature that debuted back in 2017.

Now, we know that the premise is essentially the same: Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) joins forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) to assemble a team of superheroes. Their objective? Defend the world from the onslaught of evil in the form of Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid. Additionally, they want to ensure that Superman’s (Henry Cavill) sacrifice wasn’t for naught. Thus, we see Aquaman (Jason Mamoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) enter the heroic fray.

This project was years in the making. Initially, Snyder had to step away from the movie due to family matters. Joss Whedon took the reins and oversaw the remainder of production. This included script rewrites and reshoots. However, the film premiered to negative reviews from critics and fans alike. Snyder’s supporters sought to bring the director’s version to fruition. So, after three years of rallying together to make this a reality, Warner Bros. announced in 2020 that the “Snyder Cut” was on the way.

The trailer reveals a downtrodden Bruce enacting a last-ditch effort to save humanity. We see shots of our heroes in the throes of battle. Not to mention, the formidable foes that stand in their way of victory. It’s a mixture of narration, fight sequences and ominous foreshadowing.
