Get ready to be Invincible! The Amazon series spearheaded by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) has added two more performers to its storied roster. Zachary Quinto (NOS4A2) and Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) have joined the ranks of an already impressive voice cast, Variety reports.

Now, Invincible is based on the comic books series of the same name. It’s the brainchild of Kirkman himself. Quinto is set to voice the character of Robot. Payton will voice Black Samson, who’s a member of the Guardians of the Globe. Here’s a synopsis as per Variety:

Invincible follows the adventures of Mark Grayson, the son of the most powerful superhero on Earth who develops his own powers and takes on a mission to save humankind.”

In addition to Quinto and Payton, the remainder of the cast has already been announced. Steven Yeun will lead the charge as the titular Mark Grayson. J.K. Simmons and Sandra Oh will voice Yeun’s parents Nolan and Deborah, respectively. Rounding out the cast are supporting actors Mark HamillSeth RogenZazie BeetzGillian Jacobs, and Chris Diamantopolous. But wait! There’s more! Actors Grey GriffinJason MantzoukasWalton GogginsAndrew Rannells, and Kevin Michael Richardson will also contribute. That’s one immensely gifted roster, folks.

Quinto and Payton’s roles were announced by Kirkman himself during a panel on Saturday at SkyBound Expo. Said convention is hosted annually by Kirkman’s publishing company, Skybound Entertainment.

Admittedly, I’ve yet to read the Invincible comic book series. However, the premise sounds intriguing. I’m all for superhero antics and this looks to be chalk full of them. And what a cast! I’d be remiss if I didn’t tune in to watch Invincible when it hits Amazon. That, and I can never turn down a solid animation series.
