Yuna & Kawachan
Nothing says avoid holiday stress like diving into a new WEBTOON series. This week, we are starting with Lauren Schmidt’s Yuna & Kawachan. The drama series follows Yuna, a young girl left behind by her family. But she isn’t alone; she has Kawachan by her side. They are a mysterious mascot with underlying PTSD. Together, the two face off against a world that has fallen to a zombie apocalypse. Together, the two must fight their way through day and night to survive.
Here on Saturday Morning Webtoons, we love a good zombie apocalypse WEBTOON series. Yuna & Kawachan fits right into what we are looking for. While it focuses on the two main characters surviving the zombie threat, the real meat and bones of the story are their connection and emotional journey. The found family and leaning on others is what gives this story life. We love watching them work together and lean on each other in a time of need that feels authentic.
Yuna & Kawachan is completed. Readers can enjoy the series on the official WEBTOON page.

ShootAround
Our second series this week also deals with zombies and drama. Suspu’s ShootAround follows a group of high school girls and their basketball coach, Jeff. One afternoon during practice, the world is introduced to a zombie apocalypse. This sends everything into a tailspin as the team must come together to navigate this new situation. While the girls seem to be handling the changes better, Jeff is a whole new level of stress. Thankfully, he has a good group to help guide the way.
ShootAround is another one of those feel-good reads that feature a plot that should be terrifying. A zombie apocalypse is nothing to laugh at, but the way the girls help Jeff handle the new struggles of life makes you feel like the world will go on. It’s also a great reminder that sometimes, the most unobvious people will have the most impact on your life. Who knew a grown adult could learn hard life lessons from a group of high school basketball players?
ShootAround is completed. Readers can enjoy the series on the official WEBTOON page.
