The young Han Solo film has officially begun filming! Yeehoooo! One of the director’s, Chris Miller, shared an image from the set announcing the beginning of filming. Under the production name ‘Red Cup’, (get it? Red Solo cup?) he captioned the picture “Han First Shot”, a cheeky reference to the biggest Star Wars debate of who shot first.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy had originally told reporters that filming would begin in February. Recently Woody Harrelson said that filming would start in March. However yesterday was the day it began and we can’t wait for it! Confusion may have arisen as Harrelson may begin his filming in March.
The spinoff Star Wars film stars Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo and Donald Glover will be the younger Lando Clarissian. Emilia Clarke is also appearing in an unnamed role while Harrelson is set to play Han Solo’s mentor. The film is slated to release May 25th, 2018. Are you ready for the solo Solo movie?
