- Co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson told Entertainment Weekly that we can expect a time jump in both timelines.
Yellowjackets Season 3
It’s almost time to return to the Wilderness. We finally have new images for Yellowjackets Season 3, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, to pore over until the series returns next year. Among the nine first-look photos, we see some of the adults—Taissa (Tawny Cypress), Shauna (Melanie Lynskey), Van (Lauren Ambrose) and Jeff (Warren Kole)—mourn the loss of Natalie.
In another pic, Adult Misty (Christina Ricci) wears her signature scrubs while burning a photo. Said photo boasts four people. I’m guessing it’s Misty with Natalie, Taissa and Shauna, aka the original four. Another image features Shauna sitting with her daughter Callie (Sarah Desjardins) at the dinner table as they engage in a serious conversation.

We Hear the Wilderness
As for the ’90s timeline, we glimpse the teens in the aftermath of Ben (Steven Krueger) burning the cabin. They’ve adapted to life without it, having constructed makeshift tents with tree branches.
One photo shows Teen Taissa (Jasmin Savoy-Brown) as she braces herself for a fight. She trains her rifle on someone (or something) out of frame, while Teen Van (Liv Hewson) also looks ready for conflict. Teen Misty (Samantha Hanratty) panics behind them.
Interestingly, we see two new faces with the teens, played by Silvana Estifanos and Anisa Harris. They could be part of the JV soccer team, perhaps ones who inevitably become sacrifices (you know, since everyone has popped their cannibalism cherries). Yet another image depicts Ben as he stands in the woods, seemingly glancing down at what could be the infamous pit.

A Tease
Co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson told Entertainment Weekly that we can expect a time jump in the past and present timelines. Lyle also dove into Misty’s mental state after she inadvertently killed Natalie. “Natalie’s death certainly impacts Misty emotionally the most, but I think that the reverberations of it are felt by all of them.”
As for the bonus episode? Lyle had this to say: “The truth is that there is a bonus episode, but we may need to wait a bit longer for it.” Aw, sad day. Regardless, I’m so ready for this series to return. Bring on the cannibalism, horror, ’90s alternative needle drops and trauma responses.
