Updated on:

We have more E3 2017 news coming from publisher XSEED Games who have just announced their line up for the 3-day event. We can expect to see new titles announced as well as older titles that will be available on new platforms, and attendees will be able to get their hands on these games at E3.

Also announced is a new game for PC, Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection. It’s described as “a quirky and charmingly presented 3D action RPG from acclaimed developer Nihon Falcom.” In addition to this game there will be titles that boast “distinctive female protagonists” including SENRAN KAGURA Peach Beach Splash, Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin and the Nintendo Switch edition of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.

“For XSEED Games, E3 has always been a time of excitement, as it’s our opportunity to share upcoming titles with the industry,” said Ken Berry, Executive Vice President at Marvelous USA sad in a press release. “This year, I’m overjoyed that fans are able to be a part of that experience. Not only do we have a fantastic lineup of titles at the show, it’s also rather diverse in terms of themes and genres, and we invite everyone to stop by the booth and check us out.”

If you’re at E3 2017, this is what’ll be waiting for you at the XSEED Games booth (West Hall, #4700):

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin: Inspired by Japanese mythology, this is a side-scrolling action platformer/rice growing simulator from developer Edelweiss. Players will take on the role of Sakura, a harvest goddess who has been banished to an island full of outcast humans. Here she must defeat a variety of demons through the use of weaponry and magic as she travels across the island. While the game is primarily an action game, it is also “an ode to the artistry of cultivating rice, and features an engrossing simulation of the craft behind the agriculture.”

SENRAN KAGURA Peach Beach Blast: As the name implies this third-person splasher is all about having fun the sun while trying to take out the opposing team in a water gun battle. Players can choose a team of five shinobi schoolgirls from more than 30 girls available and customize their outfits, weaponry, and abilities. There is also an online mode that will allow players to team up for 5v5 battles and a survival mode.

Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star: After being released on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, this is the version that will be available on the Nintendo Switch. The game will come with 35 previously-released DLC costumes.

Zwei: the Ilvard Insurrection: This action-RPG features a food-based experience system, an interesting cast of characters, and a “quirky, standalone narrative” Players will assume the roles of Alwen du Moonbria, a vampire princess, and Ragna Valentine, a treasure-hunting pilot. Together they embark on a quest to find Alwen’s magic and claim her castle back. I also hear that there might be chickens that lay bombs in this game.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero: The game previously released on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and the Nintendo Wii U, is now heading to the Nintendo Switch. This game will have new content as well as the upcoming DLC, Pirate Queen’s Quest! In the DLC players will take on the role of Risky Boots, and traverse Sequin Land (for a completely nefarious purpose).
