During the Xbox Games Showcase, we finally got a first look at many of the upcoming titles for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass. This livestream featured gameplay footage, world premiere trailers and, of course, plenty of surprises! Here are all of the trailers and announcements from the Xbox Games Showcase!
Halo Infinite
The Xbox Games Showcase kicked off with not only a beautiful cinematic trailer for the latest Halo installment: Halo Infinite. Master Chief is back and looking better than ever! And if that wasn’t enough, Xbox then immediately presented a gameplay trailer that featured the first look at single-player campaign gameplay for Halo Infinite. Halo Infinite is set to release Holiday 2020.
State of Decay
We then were presented with a terrifying trailer for State of Decay 3. State of Decay has been a prominent staple in the action-adventure zombie survival genre, and we cannot wait to see what this next title has in store! State of Decay 3 is currently in development with no set release date.
Forza Motorsport
Get ready to get into the driver’s seat with Forza Motorsport! Turn 10 is working on bringing ray tracing, 4K resolution and all that the Xbox Series X offers in their next Forza installment. Forza Motorsport is currently in development with no set release date.
Everwild
Next, we got a beautiful cinematic look at Rare’s upcoming title: Everwild. While we haven’t seen any gameplay yet, it looks like this game will feature a magical natural world for players to explore and impact in their own way. Everwild is currently in development with no set release date.
Tell Me Why
DONTNOD Entertainment, the team behind the beloved Life is Strange series, is bringing us another narrative mystery with Tell Me Why. In this decision-based adventure, players will play as twins Alyson and Tyler as they return to Alaska to unravel the events of their childhood. Similarly to Life Is Strange, this game will also be released episodically. Chapter One of Tell Me Why will be available on August 27, 2020.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
If you are a fan of Ori and the Will of the Wisps, you’ll definitely want to play it again once the optimized version releases on the Xbox Series X. The team at Moon Studios is working on a version of the game that runs at 120FPS (frames per second) in 4K, delivering even smoother animation and immersive sound. Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be available on the Xbox Series X later this year.
The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon DLC
After that, we got our first look at the first DLC expansion for Obsidian‘s The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon. In this new chapter, your character will explore the planet of Gorgon. This DLC features thrills, monsters, corporate deceit and even more quirky, out-of-this-world fun. Peril on Gorgon will be available on September 9, 2020.

Grounded
Obsidian then showcased Grounded, this year’s “smallest” game! In this survival title, players must harvest food, water, build weapons, shelter and ultimately survive the backyard’s terrors. If you’ve ever wanted to play in the world of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, then Grounded is the game for you! Grounded will release on July 28, 2020.
Avowed
Finally, Obsidian surprised us with a sneak peek at their next big title: Avowed. In this massive fantasy RPG, players will fight and explore the fantastical world of Eora. Avowed is currently in development with no set release date.
As Dusk Falls
As Dusk Falls is the debut title from INTERIOR/NIGHT studio. In this interactive drama, players will experience two families’ stories over the course of 30 years. The premise and art style have got us at GGA hooked, and we cannot wait to learn more about this game. As Dusk Falls is currently in development with no set release date.

Psychonauts 2
Jack Black and Double Fine gave us a musical look into one of the many levels of Psychonauts 2! This trailer truly captures the creative art, gameplay, and wackiness of the Psychonauts series. While it doesn’t state in the trailer, Double Fine recently announced that Psychonauts 2 will now release in 2021.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2
It has been over 10 years since the last S.T.A.L.K.E.R. release, but it looks like a sequel is on its way! Set in an alternative future, this survival horror centers around the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, and all of the secrets that lie within. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is currently in development and is set to release in 2021.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide
Members of the Imperium rejoice! In Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, players will fight together to defeat the hordes of enemies located within the hive city of Tertium. You’ll have to work together with members of the Inquisition to survive! Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is currently in development and is set to release in 2021.
Tetris Effect: Connected
A new twist on a gaming classic is headed to the Xbox Game Pass! In Tetris Effect: Connected, players will have the option to either play in optimized single-player mode, or the new online or local multiplayer modes. It’s Tetris like you’ve never played it before! Tetris Effect: Connected will release Holiday 2020.
The Gunk
From the developers of Steamworld comes a brand new interstellar action-adventure title: The Gunk! As you explore, gather and craft on this unknown planet, you will also have to fight to survive against the corrective gunk that has infected it. The Gunk is set to release in September 2021.
The Medium
We got our first look at Bloober Team’s The Medium during the Inside Xbox showcase earlier this year. However, in this most recent trailer, we finally get a glimpse of what we can expect from the gameplay. The Medium features a unique element that allows you to explore the story and solve puzzles across two different realities. This title looks thrilling AND chilling, and we can’t wait to see more! The Medium will release in December 2020.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis
Sega has wholly revamped and remade Phantasy Star Online with Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. This latest installment promises unparalleled character customization, boundless adventures, and the next generation’s best RPG experience. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is set to release in 2021.
CrossfireX
The beloved PC franchise Crossfire is finally getting a single-player campaign! In the CrossfireX campaign, players will personally step into the conflict between rival mercenary factions Global Risk and Black List. CrossfireX will release sometime in 2020.
Fable
The Xbox Games Showcase concluded with one final major announcement: a new Fable is in the works! The cinematic trailer showcases the magical yet dark world of Fable, but no other information about where it will appear in the series timeline. Fable is currently in development with no set release date.
