X-Men: Apocalypse is just three months away from hitting theaters and Fox has released a video this morning reminding you of that very fact!

The promo doesn’t show any new footage, giving us the same shots of Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) firing off his optic blasts, Psylocke (Olivia Munn) cutting through a car, Angel (Ben Hardy) spreading his wings and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) standing in a strong wind.

The biggest thing it does is paint a picture that a war is coming, continuing the theme of an evolutionary fight to survive, with the line “Only the Strong Will Survive” prominently punctuated throughout. This plays right into the titular villain, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), who typically sees it as his mission to decimate the un-evolved to make room for the stronger species. He is, more or less, evolution incarnate.

With the film only three months away now, it’s prime time to get one more trailer from the studio to keep the hype going and, in such a crowded superhero summer, it’s important to have a voice every bit as loud as Marvel’s and Warner Bros. It’s entirely possible that this post is a soft announcement for everyone to keep their eyes peeled for one final trailer before the film’s release.

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-Men: Apocalypse, opening in theaters everywhere May 27, 2016. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
