Welcome back to Wynonna Wednesday, Earpers! Last week, I dissected the shirt out of the Wynonna Earp Season 4 trailer. This week, I want to proffer my personal predictions for Season 4. There’s nothing I love more than speculating what our sh*tshow has in store for us. So, hold on to your butts. Grab some whiskey and doughnuts. Let’s get to Earping.

Mama Earp will return

Of this, I’m certain. Well, it could also be wishful thinking, because Megan Follows is magnificent. Now that Julian is gone, Mama Earp really has no reason to be on the outskirts of the Ghost River Triangle. Bring her back into the fold! I’d love to see her sidle up next to Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano), gun cocked, and the pair blast some Revenants back to hell. Earpers, you know they’d make a killer team. So, I raise up a prayer to our Mother of Unicorns — please make this prediction come to fruition.

Come on. You know you want these adorable psychos together again.
Our team won’t reunite until a few episodes into the season

Unless Purgatory is somehow in the Garden along with Doc (Tim Rozon) and Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley), I don’t think our crew will fully reunite until a few episodes into Season 4. I think it would be significantly more interesting to have Purgatory’s whereabouts be a separate entity from the Garden shenanigans. Remember, it’s just Wynonna and our dear Nedley (Greg Lawson) trying to save everyone. Two people can only do so much! However, I believe once the gang is back together, they’ll face the new threat to Purgatory in tandem. You know, the plethora of weird-looking maybe-not-Revenant demons.

There will be some tension between Wynonna and Nicole

Now, I’m simply basing this prediction off the trailer. In the trailer, Nicole (Kat Barrell) delivers a mean right hook to Wynonna’s face. I have a feeling that, at this point, Wynonna has yet to save Waverly. Perhaps that’s the fuel behind Nicole’s punch. Or Nicole and co. inexplicably made their way back to this plane (or wherever they were) without Wynonna’s assistance. Nicole could be irate because Wynonna didn’t save Purgatory’s residents. Or maybe Nicole has a new way of greeting Wynonna. It’s okay, Earpers. Punching is a sign of endearment!

Look at how cute they are. How can you sit idly by while they suffer?
Waverly and Nicole will struggle to attain that happy ending

Because what’s an engagement without a full-fledged obstacle course? As much as I want WayHaught to get the happy ending they deserve — and a lavish Season 4 wedding — I think they’ll have to fight their way to happiness. Emily Andras told us as much last week when we were blessed with two WayHaught photos. I don’t think a love affair will tear their bond asunder. Perhaps something more fantastical. We’re only just beginning to explore Waverly’s angelic abilities. Maybe something wholly supernatural will temporarily drive a wedge between the two. But, not to worry, I don’t think the Powers That Be will allow WayHaught to wade through the muck for too long.

The Earp curse isn’t really gone

Now, why do I believe this? Because, as of last season, the only thing that could slay Revenants was Peacemaker. If the curse was really broken, how would you effectively destroy a Revenant and send them to hell? Not only that, but the Earp curse granted Wynonna supernatural abilities. Super strength being one of them. Is there a way she could channel those gifts through another weapon that’s not Peacemaker? Was it the curse that gave her said gifts or Peacemaker itself? We know that the curse was enacted centuries ago to condemn Wyatt Earp and his descendants to perpetual demon-slaying in the Ghost River Triangle. Well, I suppose we’ll have to wait patiently til Sunday, July 26th to find out if my theory is true!

Just some crazy chick with a severed head.
The new demons aren’t from around these here parts

Something was triggered that brought forth a surge of new demons from outside the Ghost River Triangle. Perhaps another portal was inadvertently opened when the threshold to the Garden appeared. Or maybe the demons surface after Wynonna saves Doc and Waverly from the Garden. I can see them essentially tagging along from Waverly and Doc’s tenure in the Garden. Or wherever the residents of Purgatory are. In addition, I think Jeremy (Varun Saranga) will play a vital role in destroying the new threat in Purgatory. He worked with Black Badge and has insider knowledge to the kinds of weaponry needed to decimate supernatural threats. What if he invents something revelatory that ends up kicking all kinds of demon ass? I can get behind that.

Doc and Wynonna will reunite with Alice

Doc and Wynonna’s story with Alice did more than tug at my heartstrings. It shattered my heart entirely. Now, I understand Wynonna and Doc sent their infant daughter away so she could live a better life. However, I’m game for a family reunion. In addition, I predict WynDoc will rise again. After that smooch and Doc jumping headfirst over the threshold to save Waverly, I think Wynonna will be all aboard the Doc train once again. Plus, I’d love to see Alice after a few years have passed. How fun would it be to watch Doc and Wynonna attempt to parent? Especially with Doc and his anachronistic approach to everything. Parenting has evolved quite a bit since the 19th century, Mr. Holliday.
