Emily Andras is having a good summer and we are here for it! Her hit Syfy series Wynonna Earp had been on hiatus and its return was questionable due to IDW Entertainment having funding problems. Those were solved however and it was announced in early July that the cult hit would begin production on its fourth season at the end of the year on schedule for a 2020 return to the small screen. Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Andras has a new show in development at Syfy called Axeholes

According to THR, Axeholes follows a mismatched bunch of comic convention attendees who inadvertently get transported into the real-life world of their favorite fantasy TV series, Blue Bar’Bara. In the worst role-playing game ever, the unequipped party must learn to navigate a dangerous land of profanity-spewing battle axes, sociopathic fairies, disturbingly sensual dragons and a chainmail-bikini-wearing shield maiden as they struggle to find a way back home.

The depiction of the show couldn’t be more Andras. Wynonna Earp has garnered such die hard fans (Earpers) and Andras’ relationship with her fans, whether on social media or at conventions, has always been positive and fun. About Axeholes she says, “I am excited to take on a new adventure series that is an adoring, tongue-in-cheek love letter to fandom in general, and fierce barbarian princesses in particular,” Andras said. “I am especially thrilled that it will allow me to continue working with Syfy, who have been endlessly supportive of the hilarious, moving, action-packed feminist genre shows I love to create for television.”

Another signature move for Andras here is Axeholes‘ ‘fierce barbarian princesses’. Wynonna Earp is chock full of positive, badass and funny female characters and it seems that she will bring more of that awesomeness to this series. Andras is slated to serve as showrunner and executive producer on the series. Right now, Axeholes is in only in development. However, if Earpers have anything to do with it, the show will definitely make it to air.
