“Alexa, play ‘Tell That Devil.'”

Wynonna Earp: Vengeance is finally on Tubi, and if you’re like me, you’ve already watched it a [insert number] of times. To celebrate the return of our sh*t show, I’ve compiled a list of my 12 favorite moments from the 90-minute special.

Buckle up, buttercups, grab some whiskey and doughnuts, and let’s Earp.

A Wynonna/Waverly/Nicole Reunion

“Did you bring doughnuts?”

Wynonna’s (Melanie Scrofano), Waverly’s (Dom Provost-Chalkley) and Nicole’s (Katherine Barrell) reunion on the Homestead is a balm for the soul. The love between them is almost tangible — it leaps out at you from the screen. Plus, the “Welcome home, Wynonna” feels like a loving nod to the Earpers who fought tooth and nail to save the show.

Earp Sister Scenes

Wynonna and Waverly wreak absolute havoc at Mercedes’ (Dani Kind) wake, and it’s as hilarious as it is entertaining, from them partaking in a bar fight to Sheriff Haught escorting them out of said wake. Wynonna’s “Your mom’s mad, dude” comment kills me. Then, the requisite Earp sisters fireplace scene is heartwarming and grounded with the perfect dose of cheeky. Leave it to this series to make us go “haha” and “aw” in the same breath.

Our Core Four at the Dinner Table

The moment Wynonna, Waverly, Nicole and Doc (Tim Rozon) reunite for the dinner table scene (the one from the trailer) really feels the Earp-iest to me. When I chatted with Tim two weeks ago, he told me this was the first scene he shot. And that makes sense to me — it’s a gorgeous homecoming for our core four and fans. Not to mention, Nicole’s right; this does feel less like a reunion and more like a reboot.

WynDoc on the Porch

It’s not Wynonna Earp without a WynDoc porch scene. They know how to gut-punch you in the feels with these scenes. Melanie beautifully taps into our titular gunslinger’s fears and vulnerabilities for this particular moment in Vengeance. Tim deftly conveys Doc’s immense growth. Considering where Doc was at the beginning of the series versus now, it’s as if they’re two different characters.

Melanie and Tim’s chemistry is also off the charts. It’s so effortless and natural.

WayHaught Before the Big Battle

You know who else boasts effortless chemistry? Dom and Kat. This special blesses us with a tender WayHaught scene in the aftermath of Mina (Karen Knox) essentially possessing Waverly. While Nicole and Waverly have issues to work through (point me toward the couple who doesn’t), it’s abundantly clear they love each other so much.

Sure, nothing beats stair sex, but this sweet and steamy WayHaught moment showcases that sizzling, organic connection they have.

Wynonna and Nicole — Best Friends, No Takebacks

Wynonna and Nicole are besties through and through, even when they’re at each other’s throats. They perfectly encapsulate that “Odd Couple” dynamic. Plus, Melanie and Kat bounce off each other well, especially on a comedic level. I love their moment before our posse of dipsh*ts battles Mina’s hellhounds. “Enough Hallmark moments, you’re messing with my bloodlust” feels like a playful nod to Kat’s Hallmark movies. (Please check out Shifting Gears if you haven’t already.)

Everyone Fighting the Hellhounds

Who doesn’t love a good dog pun? The big hellhound fight is chock full of ’em. I dig the moment when Wynonna and Doc fire at said hellhounds while standing on top of the train — you know the one. That seamlessly choreographed dynamic duo moment. It’s like Dancing with the Stars but with guns and hellhounds!

Then, Nedley (Greg Lawson) gets his heroic time in the limelight as he does doughnuts in his truck. Canines can’t resist running toward a moving vehicle (at least my dog can’t).

Additionally, I love watching Waverly and Nicole in their element, shooting from the window at the baddies. The wives who fire guns together…

Flashbacks From the Series

When Wynonna dives through the ice-fishing hole to Hell, we see flashbacks from previous episodes, including Wynonna giving birth to Alice, Doc claiming he “knows that gun” and Waverly telling our eponymous heroine, “This is your home.” It’s a nice hit of nostalgia.

Doc Finally Getting His Horse

Our cowboy finally gets his horse in Vengeance. I felt giddy watching Doc chase down Lafferty (Andrew Bushell) on his trusty steed. Your puny metal boxes are no match for John Henry “Doc” Holliday.

Waverly Saving Wynonna From Hell

I’m a big fan of symbolism, so I dig having Waverly, our favorite angel, pull Wynonna out of Hell. It’s also a refreshing reversal of what Wynonna usually does: save Purgatory and her loved ones. Even heroes need a helping (angelic) hand from time to time.

Doc’s Death Scene

As much as I didn’t like the idea of Doc dying, this scene is well done. Melanie and Tim are titans of their craft, expertly tugging at our heartstrings and making us reach for the tissues. It hits you squarely in the feels. Doc’s “You tell her all the good stuff” broke me.

That said, I feel confident Doc will return if we get more Earp. Jeremy (Varun Saranga) and Waverly will make sure of it.

The Final Moments

These final moments of the special set the narrative stage for a potential fifth season or another special. It leaves the door wide open in that regard. I love reuniting with our Jer-bear, Waverly spreading her wings for her first trip outside of Purgatory, Nicole deputizing Wynonna (that’ll go over well) and Nedley basking in the glow of his found family (although, I hope he spends more time with his daughter and grandchild off-screen). It also feels fitting to end Vengeance like the Season 4 finale by focusing on the adorable signage.

If you’re a demon, please knock.
