Our Mother of Unicorns, Emily Andras, spoke with EW about the impending episode that’ll celebrate the love of WayHaught in an “unexpected way.” Here’s what she teased:
It’s a little bit of our A Midsummer Night’s Dream episode. [The party is] not necessarily what Waverly and Nicole would’ve picked for themselves, but there’s certainly a lot of fun to be had. It will celebrate their love in an unexpected way.
Overall, this Wynonna Earp outing will be about love. Besides showcasing the unbreakable bond between Waverly Earp (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) and Nicole Haught (Kat Barrell), we’ll see those around the lovebirds being celebrated as well. As for the wedding? Will we finally be blessed with dreamy WayHaught nuptials? Andras replied that, “Everybody is certainly working toward that goal.” Of course, there are still Purgatory baddies to contend with. “We have some fairly huge obstacles and villains we may have to face down to see if we’re even allowed to do one,” she said.
We left our sh*tshow off with Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) and Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) experiencing some relationship turbulence. The wedge driven between them casts WayHaught’s engagement in a bittersweet light, as not everyone in our core crew is on good terms with each other.
Judging by the photo captions, it appears the WayHaught bachelorette party takes place in “Love’s All Over,” the premiere of Wynonna Earp‘s back half of Season Four. It also looks as though Wynonna seizes the reins for Waverly and Nicole’s celebration. There’s a male dancer doing a striptease. Wynonna’s really into it. Nicole? Not so much. Waverly transitions from bemused to slightly amused. Regardless, I’m so excited for our demon-hunting gang to make a much-needed return.
