The announcement came in the form of a Twitter post and a new trailer showing off the new zones and the new dragon flying mechanic. Dragonflight introduces a new race and class with the Dracthyr Evoker when they awake from their slumber in the Forbidden Reach. We will also get to explore four new zones, including the Waking Shores, Ohn’ahran Plains, Azure Span and Thaldrazus and expand our knowledge and lore of the ancient dragon aspects.

We the official release date for Dragonflight; we also learned that season one will kick off on December 12, 2022. And this new season brings some pretty epic changes. Typically when a new raid opens, it does so in stages, but not this time. When the raid opens on December 12, it will include normal, heroic and mythic tiers. Raid finder will still open as it normally does with a new wing every week. Players will also be able to cross-faction mythic right away. This might not make much of a difference in everyday raiding except for being able to fill more raid spots on servers whose population is either heavy in one faction or another.

However, this could mean some pretty significant changes to the World First Race. It will be interesting to see what races/classes will be included in the race and who will come out on top. To qualify for the Hall of Fame, groups will need at least 16 out of 20 players to be from the same guild and faction. The new raid for Dragonflight is called the Vault of the Incarnates and will have players facing off against eight new boss encounters. The description for the new raid is as follows:

The Primalists breached the Titan prison used to hold the Incarnates for millennia. Within, Raszageth performs a foul ritual to unleash her siblings so together they can purge the world of the Titans’ influence. The champions of Azeroth must assault this impregnable fortress and break their defenses to end this threat. While many could fall, defeat condemns all the realms to the Incarnates’ reign of fire and blood.
