One of our favorite things about new World of Warcraft expansions is the fun things that come before its launch. And over the last few weeks, we have waited patiently for the best part of prelaunch – the cinematics. In the past, we have gotten sea shanties, war stories, introductions to new characters, and looks at some returning ones. Today, Blizzard Entertainment kicked off the latest cinematics for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, titled Dragonflight Legacies.

The first cinematic gives us the best idea of what Blizzard is trying to show us. They seem to serve as a history lesson for those unfamiliar with the lore behind the Dragonflights while also giving us a peak into what is coming next. In Dragonflight Legacies: Chapter One, we watch as Norzdumo meets with Emberthal and gives her a brief lesson on how the Aspects came to be.

Dragonflight Legacies: Chapter One

The most exciting part of Dragonflight is getting the chance to really dive into the lore of the Dragon Aspects and the race as a whole. We’ve had some information given to us throughout the years but never enough to truly satisfy. Dragonflight Legacies: Chapter One also gives us a new look at Galakrond and even hints about an old threat coming back to harm Azeroth.

Could that threat be Galakrond? The proto-dragon would be a massive threat, not only in strength but in sheer size. We can only imagine what it would be like to go up against him in a raid. Imagine what kind of mechanics and abilities we would have to contend with. But Galakrond as the big bad isn’t set in stone just yet. We’ve got some time for Blizzard to uncover who we will be facing in Dragonflight and a few more Dragonflight Legacies cinematics to dive into.
