What is the function of a toy? To make kids happy, according to Woody (Tom Hanks) in the new Toy Story 4 trailer. Disney/Pixar studios finally released the first full length trailer that gives fans a little more insight about the new adventure. We also get a new movie poster. Check out the poster and trailer below.

Meet Forky (Tony Hale), Bonnie’s new favorite toy. Forkie is a spork that Bonnie made into a toy, but he’s having some trouble grasping the concept of his purpose. Leave it up to Woody to teach him how to be a toy. It wouldn’t be Toy Story without an adventure, as Forkie decides to bail and Woody goes after him.

They end up in a nearby town where Woody spots Bo (Annie Potts) in a store window. He also finds a lot of creepy dolls inside that Bo has to save him from. And during their reunion, Bo teaches Woody what it’s like to be free.  Meanwhile Buzz (Tim Allen) has to gather the gang to find Woody and Forkie.

Duke Caboom. Toy Story 4

We’ve seen a couple of teasers that introduced Forkie and set a new location for the toys…a carnival. That’s where Buzz meets Duckie (Keegan-Michael Key) and Bunny (Jordan Peele). The toys meet other new friends along the way, including Duke Caboom, a 70’s action figure presumably voiced by Keanu Reeves. You only see him once and he only says one word. I’m sure he’ll make a big impact though. There’s also the creepy dolls I mentioned, Gabby Gabby voiced by Christina Hendricks and her army of ventriloquist dummies. (Yikes!)

The film looks as cute as ever and we know the toys will eventually find where they belong. But it’s interesting to see Woody out in the wilderness as a free toy. I’m definitely interested to see if he goes home to Bonnie or if he will stay lost with Bo.

Toy Story 4 also includes the voices of Joan Cusack, John Ratzenberger, Estelle Harris, Wallace Shawn and Blake Clark. Watch the trailer below.

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy. Directed by Josh Cooley (“Riley’s First Date?”) and produced by Jonas Rivera (“Inside Out,” “Up”) and Mark Nielsen (associate producer “Inside Out”).
