DC Comics has announced Wonder Woman day! Oddly enough, it doesn’t coincide with her comic debut but rather the film’s release. And lucky for us, the promotions will last the whole weekend rather than just one day. Want to know more? Let’s get into the details.

Wonder Woman Day will be Saturday, June 3rd. During the film’s opening weekend, DC Comics has teamed up with lots of vendors to promote the heroine. According to DC, over 2,000 comic retailers, bookstores, libraries and other partners around the world will host “Wonder Woman Day” activities. Including giving away free comics issues! They’ve also teamed up with vendors to offer exclusive deals and offer in-store and digital promotions. So basically get your wallets ready. Right now you can download a Wonder Woman activity kit and selling guide which consists of coloring pages, trivia and more!

Wonder Woman debuted in comics on October of 1941 in issue 8 of All Star Comics. Since then, she has become an icon for girls and women. Last year she celebrated 75 years of comics and made her first big-screen debut in Batman v Superman. This year, she’ll finally be having her own film. And it’s about time! DC will be promoting her further by having a DC All Access special on Wonder Woman the entire week from May 29th – June 3rd. Fans are also encouraged to use the hashtag #WonderWomanDay on June 3rd to celebrate the holiday. It’s time for Wonder Woman to truly shine!
