The Wonder Woman 1984 panel kicked off today’s DC FanDome Convention. Gal Gadot, Patty Jenkins, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal discussed the upcoming film and shared the new main trailer. All of the trailers leading up to this have been fantastic in their own right, but this trailer blows them all out of the water. We finally get the perfect mix of kick a** fighting and story exposition that we have been waiting for. The trailer kicks off with the reminder that this world isn’t ready for Wonder Woman but when her time comes, everything will be different. Then our girl goes and swings from lightening bolts. That’s right. Lightening bolts.
The Wonder Woman 1984 trailer also gives us a better look at what Pascal’s Max Lord has up his sleeve. His belief that he can give everyone what they truly want. How? We aren’t quite sure yet, but we can only imagine it comes at a cost. We also finally get to see Wiig’s Cheetah, the true apex predator who rivals everything that Wonder Woman stands for. The trailer does a wonderful job of showing just how jealous Cheetah is of her once-friend Diana Prince, which has most likely led to her pursing Lord’s promise.

The trailer also shows no lack of Pine’s Steve Trevor trying to get caught up on everything ’80s. We still don’t see how he is brought back after his apparent death in the first Wonder Woman film. I am worried, though, that his reappearance is due to Lord’s ability to give people what they truly want. So maybe he isn’t back for good? This storyline isn’t something we are going to see in the trailers, so we are going to have to wait it out just a little longer. Regardless, Pine’s comedic presence is a welcome break to the serious tone that Wonder Woman 1984 presents.
After multiple release date push backs the team is still set on a cinematic release. Wonder Woman 1984 is set to come out October 2, 2020. Check out the official trailer below, and let us know how exacted you are!
