Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins shared the first poster for the film featuring Gal Gadot in a new suit. The tweet also confirmed when the official #WW84 campaign would begin.
DC and Warner Bros announced today that they are skipping San Diego Comic Con‘s Hall H this year. The announcement is a surprise considering that Wonder Woman 1984 and Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, have both completed production. In service to fans, Jenkins tweeted the following message with the photo:
By now you’ve heard: WB isn’t going to Hall H this year. We’re so sad to miss you there! And waiting until Dec. to start our official
#WW84 campaign in full– But the truth is… we can just… barely… wait…
As you can see the costume is very golden. It resembles the Golden Eagle Armor (minus the wings and helmet) from DC’s Our Worlds at War comic series. The neon background of the poster forms a large W behind Diana.
The suit adds more mystery to the film’s synopsis. Details are being kept tightly guarded. The official campaign begins in December, but this will have to do for now. Check out the poster below.
The film stars Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Natasha Rothwell, Soundarya Sharma and Kristoffer Polaha with Connie Nielson and Robin Wright. Jenkins, Geoff Johns and David Callaham wrote the script.
Wonder Woman 1984 premieres in one year on June 5, 2020.
