Heartstopper – Alice Oseman

Our first WEBTOON series comes from Alice Oseman! Heartstopper is a romance series that will pull at every one of your heartstrings. The story follows Charlie, a high-strung, openly gay overthinking, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-heart rugby player still learning about himself. When the two meet at a British all-boys grammar school, they become quick friends, possibly becoming something much more. We’ve talked before about how much we love this series and Oseman’s other work!

Fantasy WEBTOON series that mix with romance are our happy place. This means Purpah‘s Suitor Armor is the very happiest of places for us. Lucia is a lady-in-waiting who believes that the most challenging thing in her life is getting through the upcoming royal wedding. That is until she finds herself falling head over heels for Modeus, an up-and-coming knight with a big secret. What secret might that be? He is an enchanted suit of armor without a soul! The Secrets of Soulford – The Quincil

Another fantasy series with romance vibes is The Quincil‘s The Secrets of Soulford. Gan Ainm just wants to be left alone and pretty much invisible in her new home of Soulford, but a local guard isn’t about to let that happen. But what happens when Gan learns that almost everyone in town, including the charming yet grumpy guard, has secrets? And what if those secrets could hurt everyone she cares about? The Quincil’s art and imagination knows no bounds and this series is worth binging again and again.

I’m the Grim Reaper – GRAVEWEAVER

When we aren’t swooning over fantasy romance series, we are binging supernatural WEBTOONs like GRAVEWEAVER‘s I’m the Grim Reaper. In this world, very bad people don’t just get sent to Hell. They get assigned a job to collect the souls of some of the worst people on Earth. Nothing like being forced to work in the afterlife. Scarlet just so happens to be one of those people. She is one of our favorite characters on WEBTOON and we thank GRAVEWEAVER every day for bringing her to life.

We couldn’t talk about wonderfully creative women in the WEBTOON community without talking about Sigeel! Her series Blood Stain is a slice-of-life meets comedy meets mad scientist. So simply put – it’s fantastic! Elliot needs a new job and, on a whim, agrees to work for the most eccentric and Frankenstein-like scientist we have ever seen. Sigeel gives us some of the most unlikely friendships and tons of laughs. So many laughs. We also suggest checking out her other series, Punderworld, as well!

The only job she has is to make sure her cousin doesn’t fall in love. Ashtreehouse has gifted us this story tied nicely up with a bow and everyone should be reading it.
