Sometimes, you can’t fight the moonlight (cue the LeAnne Rimes hit 2000 single). On Thursday, Paramount Plus unleashed an official trailer for the Sarah Michelle Gellar-led Wolf Pack, the highly anticipated fantasy horror series produced by Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis (full disclosure: this show isn’t related to Teen Wolf, nor does it take place in that universe).
Here’s the logline for the series:
“When a raging wildfire descends on California, a mysterious creature hiding out in the forest is awoken, and a group of teenagers finds their lives changed forever.” Firstly, as someone who resided in Southern California during wildfire season, we can add “don’t wake the mysterious creature in the forest” to the growing pile of deadly ramifications brought on by wildfires.

In the trailer, students aplenty go missing amid said raging wildfire. Wolf Pack seems to play with fun horror movie tropes. So far, we don’t glimpse the creature in question, but we know it can turn unsuspecting, hormonal teens into werewolves. Gellar’s Kristin Ramsey explores the wildfire’s origins but is swept up in the werewolf aspect of it all.
Garrett Briggs (Rodrigo Santoro) vows to assist Kristin, and things ostensibly get steamy between the two. We hear a cover of Rimes’ “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” (I would’ve chosen Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Bark at the Moon”) as these hormonal werewolf teens do some howlin’ of their own (I’m sorry).

Wolf Pack stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rodrigo Santoro, Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson and Tyler Lawrence Gray. Jeff Davis and Gellar serve as executive producers.
I’m excited to see my queen SMG back in the genre TV saddle. Nobody slays (I’m sorry) like her. It appears werewolves, like vampires, are making a comeback. I, for one, am ready for the carnage.
Take a gander at the official poster and watch the trailer below. Wolf Pack will have you preying for survival when it premieres on Thursday, January 26, only on Paramount Plus, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.
