Without Vesemir, there would be no Geralt. Netflix hath blessed us with WitcherCon, a mini virtual experience dedicated to all things The Witcher. In addition to behind-the-scenes tidbits and a release date for the highly anticipated second season of The Witcher, we were gifted with something else. Drum roll, please … the premiere date for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf

Now, the anime film shines a spotlight on Geralt’s (portrayed by Henry Cavill in the live-action series) mentor, Vesemir. Kim Bodnia lends his voice to the character for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. He’ll also appear in Season Two of The Witcher, which is slated to drop on December 17 of this year. 

According to Netflix, “The world of The Witcher expands in this anime film that explores a powerful new threat facing the Continent.” The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is helmed by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the showrunner, with Beau DeMayo as producer.

The Witcher Netflix adaptations are based on the fantasy series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. It revolves around the titular character Geralt of Rivia, a beast hunter with supernatural abilities. The first season of the live-action outing, which debuted on December 20, 2019, was a smashing success for the streaming giant. Besides Cavill, The Witcher stars Anna ShafferFreya AllanYasen AtourBasil Eidenbenz and Anya Chalotra

We’ve also got an official poster and a teaser for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf! The said teaser boasts stunning animation, as well as a young Vesemir doing his thing. “Face your demons,” appears to be the crux for this series as those words flash across the screen. 

Unfortunately, details regarding the rest of the voice cast are unknown at this time.
