It was announced in September that Will Poulter  had joined Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series. Unfortunately, according to Deadline, Poulter has had to leave the project over scheduling conflicts.

After the renewal of the show for a second season, the production schedule was changed quite drastically. Unfortunately, it didn’t line up with Poulter’s other commitments. Nothing about Poulter’s Lord of the Rings’ character had been released.

Amazon has kept a tight lid on Lord of the Rings. What we do know is that it takes place during the Second Age, long before the events in Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit. The land of Númenor may play a part in the series. During The Second Age, Middle Earth saw the first defeat of Sauron, Númenor was a kingdom of men but is destroyed by the end of that age. Aragorn is a descendent of the first King of Númenor.
