As Cersei Lannister famously said in season one, “When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.” The final season starts Sunday, and a few short weeks later we’ll know who’s won and who’s died. So let’s break down some vital stats of the remaining players, and play fantasy Westeros!

Still playing the Game of Thrones:

Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey): When we last saw her, Cersei was burning her last bridge by telling Jaime that when she’d offered her support in the war against the dead, she had been crossing her fingers. She threatened him, he called her bluff and he left her alone… and possibly pregnant. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark*: +2,500

Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke): She lost one dragon (no rest for you, Viserion) to the Night King, unwittingly enjoyed some nephew love and won the allegiance of the King in the North (slash actual heir to the Iron Throne). Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +700

Jon Snow (a.k.a. Aegon Targaryen) (Kit Harington): See above, re. loving and identity. Jon Snow is on his way to fight the army of the dead, unaware of his true identity. You think he’s broody now? Wait until he finds out what he’s getting up to… Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +350

Arya Stark (Maisie Williams): Everyone’s favorite assassin has made it home to Winterfell, united with Sansa in the satisfying execution of Littlefinger and bested Brienne at swordplay. She could win, but she doesn’t want to be queen at all. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +1,600

🎵Time tooooo say goodbyeeeeee🎵 @entertainmentweekly @gameofthrones

A post shared by Sophie Turner (@sophiet) on

Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner): The Lady of Winterfell is free of Littlefinger’s machinations, free of Ramsay’s horrors and has just asserted herself as a wise leader while openly choosing her family ties over anyone else’s wiles. But isn’t she technically still married to Tyrion? And isn’t he on his way to Winterfell now? Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +500

A post shared by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (@nikolajwilliamcw) on

Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau): Finally stepped out of Cersei’s toxicity, despite owning that his love for her has driven his entire life. He’s headed north to fight the army of the dead, and he rides alone. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +4,000

RELATED: Theory- Jaime Lannister is the Valonqar AND…

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage): Hand of the Queen to Daenerys and lurking near shipboard bedchambers where aunt/nephew love is being made, Tyrion’s motivation and allegiances could surprise us all. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +1,000

Round 8. Ding ding ding. 🔔 🥊Brace yourselves. April 14th, HBO. #ForTheThrone

A post shared by Isaac Hempstead Wright (@isaachwright) on

Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright): The Three-Eyed Raven helped his sisters take down Littlefinger. He knows all and sees all. Somehow he’s the one Odds Shark has picked to win, despite the fact that he mostly lives in his head, in the past or in the body of his dire wolf. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +220

Gendry (Joe Dempsie): Seeing Gendry again last season was so great. (Gendry + Arya forever!) Some know him to be Robert Baratheon’s bastard son, and therefore as legit an heir for the throne as Jon or Dany. He seems more keen on his new role as blacksmith of Winterfell, forging weapons for the great war against the army of the dead. After proving his mettle by saving his stranded friends by literally running to Eastwatch, he’ll be one to watch in the coming war. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +700

Less than two weeks . #GOT #fight #bigfight #nightking #ironthrone #gameofthronesseason8 #winteriscoming

A post shared by Vladimír Furdík (@vladimir_furdik_) on

Night King (Vladimir Furdik): We now know that this guy was a First Man changed by the Children of the Forest into a creature meant to protect them. That failed, and ages later he was last seen riding an ice dragon south of the Wall, followed by the army of the dead. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +1,000

Also still alive (?):

The Hound (Rory McCann): Not really trying to win the throne, but we can hope to see him kill his brother– or the hulk that used to be his brother. Last seen helping out with the demonstration of the wight at King’s Landing before heading north to fight. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +12,500

Ser Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen): Healed of greyscale by Sam, Jorah is back by his Lady’s side and ready to fight. He was there for the wight demonstration, gave Jon his blessing in keeping the Mormont family sword and is headed north to fight. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +10,000

Lady Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey): The most bad ass house leader in the North, little Lady Lyanna schooled her peers more than once in season seven. She’s ready to fight, but shows no interest in being queen. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: —

A post shared by Gwendoline Christie (@gwendolineuniverse) on

Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie): She’s finally fulfilled her promise to Lady Stark, as both girls are home “safe” at Winterfell. She’s maintained a friendly relationship with Jaime, which will be awesome to revisit when he arrives in the North. (No word yet on whether Tormienne ‘shippers should be in mourning.) And she is firmly committed to serving House Stark, rather than sitting on the throne. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +10,000

Samwell Tarly (John Bradley): He illegally healed Jorah Mormont of greyscale, stole books and brought a woman (his lover) and a baby to the Citadel, at odds with both his aspiration towards becoming a Maester and being a brother of the Night’s Watch. Happily, he’s also the one who figured out that dragon glass kills wights, that there’s a ton of it under Dragonstone and that Jon Snow is Aegon Targaryen. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +2,000

Varys (Conleth Hill): The eunuch most loyal to the seven kingdoms has finally found a ruler he believes could serve the people well, and he’s accompanying her to fight the army of the dead with no apparent knowledge of Jon Snow’s true identity. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +7,000

#DavosSeaworth

A post shared by Liam Cunningham (@liamcunningham1) on

Ser Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham): He succeeded in seeing Melisandre banished for what she did to Shireen Baratheon, and the Onion Knight has joined the team preparing to fight the army of the dead. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +7,000

Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson): In love with Missandei and reunited with his queen, Grey Worm is on his way to fight the army of the dead after having conquered Casterly Rock. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: —

A post shared by Nathalie Emmanuel (@nathalieemmanuel) on

Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel): In love with Grey Worm and traveling with her queen to fight the army of the dead after having attended the parley with Cersei and the wight. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: —

Gilly (Hannah Murray): Silly Gilly is the one who unearthed the hint in an old Maester’s journal that led Sam to figuring out not just who Jon’s parents were, but that he is not a bastard. She’s arrived at Winterfell with Sam ahead of the war with the army of the dead. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +15,000

Nice! @m_i_s.t #gameofthrones

A post shared by Carice van Houten (@leavecaricealone) on

Melisandre, The Red Woman (Carice van Houten): Banished by Jon Snow after Davos discovered and revealed that she’d burned Shireen at the stake, Melisandre continued working behind the scenes to bring the Dragon and the Wolf together. She told Varys she was going back to Volantis, but that it was her fate to die in Westeros, so we’ll see her again. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +10,000

Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk): When Cersei faked everyone out by saying she would join the great war, Euron played a part by pretending to return to the Iron Islands. In reality, he set sail to get an army of sellswords, The Golden Company, to fight for Cersei’s claim to the throne. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +10,000

Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma): Wasting away in prison, where Cersei condemned her to watch her daughter die by poisoning and then decay. As far as we know, she’s still alive– and possibly being kept near Yara? Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: —

Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan): Imprisoned by Euron and the object of a rescue mission currently in progress. If things work out, she’ll be the queen of the Iron Islands, an ally of Daenerys’. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +15,000

A post shared by alfieallen (@alfieeallen) on

Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen): Overcame his Reek tendencies to beat a fellow Iron Islander to death on the beach below Dragonstone. He’s won the respect of a crew and is on his way to save his sister. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +15,000

Bronn (Jerome Flynn): Ser Bronn of the Blackwater is, as far as we know, still in King’s Landing and still loyal to Cersei. With Jaime gone, whom he’d saved from dragon fire, and Tyrion having reiterated his offer of doubling whatever anyone else offers him for his loyalty, who knows how long that will last. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +10,000

Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju): Last seen running on the Wall with Beric Dondarrion as the Night King brought it down with ice dragon fire. Presumed alive, because we still need him to share screen time with Brienne. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +15,000

Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer): Last seen running on the Wall with Tormund Giantsbane as the Night King brought it down with ice dragon fire. Presumed alive, because he is awfully hard to kill. Likelihood of winning, according to Odds Shark: +12,500

Who do you think will ultimately sit on the throne?

My personal guess: nobody. I think the dragons will melt it down and a new, more democratic era will dawn with Dany and Jon leading the way.
