The Flash has been pretty busy with trying to find a way to defeat The Thinker, but there’s one mystery that needs to be addressed. Who is the Mystery Girl? You know, the girl who just happens to be in the right place at the right time (usually Jitters). This mystery girl, played by Jessica Parker Kennedy, doesn’t even have an official name and yet, she is making an impact.
We’ve only seen her on three occasions, but that was enough to make people wonder what she’s up to. Let’s recap her appearances.
First appearance was as a server at the West-Allen wedding in Crisis on Earth X Part 1 And 2. She awkwardly bumped into Barry (Grant Gustin). She was very excited about being able to work at his wedding, calling it “one for the ages.”
The second time we saw her at Jitters in “The Elongated Knight Rises“. While Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer) argue about who’s going to pay for coffee, the mystery girl steps forward and puts money on the counter. She was more than happy to pay…as a matter of fact, she seemed very excited to be in their presence. As the two men were leaving, the mystery girl looked up from her writing to smile at them. The interesting part is what the girl was writing. The symbols in her journal look very similar to the symbols that Barry was drawing on the walls after exiting the speed force.
In “Enter Flashtime“, she bumped into Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Harry (Tom Cavanagh) at Jitters, spilling her Killer Frost drink. She profusely apologized for her clumsiness. Harry gets annoyed and decides to leave. At first the mystery girl was all smiles, but then she gave them an ominous look as they left.
Speculation about who she is began as soon as she appeared on screen. The first thought was this girl is Barry and Iris’ (Candice Patton) daughter Dawn Allen from the future. Seems plausible. Some fans said she was Barry and Iris’ granddaughter Jenni Ognats. Then fans started to speculate that she is another face of Eobard Thawne, the Reverse Flash. Thawne returned in Crisis on Earth X with Dr. Harrison Well’s face. Before speeding off, Thawne wondered what face he would be wearing the next time he meets the Flash.
Executive Producter Todd Helbing promises that we will get some answers in the season 4 finale. He told Entertainment Weekly , her identity will be a part of one of two cliffhangers and will set up the next villain for season five. There is one cast member who knows the mystery girl’s identity. EW reported that The Flash star Gustin already knows who she is.
“I’ve known since before we started this season. It’s been the thing that I’ve been most excited about all season, which sounds ridiculous because it’s really a season 5 thing. I’ve spent all of season 4 being excited about this thing that we’re going to do in season 5!” – Grant Gustin
The Flash season four finale airs Tuesday, May 22. Let us know who do you think this mystery girl really is.
