The most anticipated Wheel of Time casting here was Thom Merrilin and Loial. Alexandre Willaume will play the gleeman Merrilin. He is a performer who wears a cloak of patches to mark him as a gleeman. He travels to villages and performs songs and stories, many of which help folks understand more about the world of Wheel of Time. Merrilin gets swept up in the adventures of the main characters and can actually be considered a main character himself.
Hammed Animashaun will play Loial, an ogier. An ogier is not human. Loial stands almost 10 feet tall with big eyebrows and pointed ears, is an ardent history lover and wants to write a book of his adventures with the main characters.
Johann Myers plays Padan Fain who is a peddler who comes to the Two Rivers during a festival. And that’s all I’ll say about that. You know, spoilers. And Alvaro Morte will be playing Logain. He is a man who can channel the one power and proclaims himself the Dragon Reborn.
Still, no word on what previously cast Daryl McCormack will be playing. There are plenty of characters still left to cast. Lews Therin Telamon in flashbacks? There’s also Gawyn and Galad Damodred if they go that far into the book. There are many possibilities. I’m still going with White Cloak soldier Bornhald since he appears earlier in The Eye of the World but there is always the possibility that Daryl McCormack will play a character that was created for the series.
Hopefully, we’ll find out who is rounding out the cast soon, I’d especially like to hear who is playing Min and Elayne Trakand. It’s been an exciting ride so far for fans. I love that we are seeing mostly new faces for all of these characters.

The WHEEL OF TIME Series Releases Footage from the First Table Read
The Wheel of Time is based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy series spanning 14 books. The final three books in the series were written by fantasy author Brandon Sanderson after Jordan’s passing. It is set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists, but only women can use it. Meaning that in this series — women hold the keys to power. The story follows Moiraine, a member of the shadowy and influential all-female organization called the ‘Aes Sedai’ as she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women. Moiraine is interested in these five because she believes one of them might be the reincarnation of an incredibly powerful individual, whom prophecies say will either save humanity or destroy it.
