Welcome to another edition of What’s New on TV! This week, animated characters take the lead and start the week on a great note. Get ready, things are about to get good!
Everyone’s favorite NYPD captain is back: Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 26. For those who can’t get enough of Nick and Charlie’s love story, Heartstopper Season 3 premieres on Netflix. And for animated series fans, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers and Krapopolis all have season premieres this week.
Some exciting shows, including those that have been on the air for over two decades, are premiering during the week of September 29–October 5. Check out our list of what to watch below.
NEW ON TV, SEPTEMBER 29–October 5
September 29 – The Simpsons
With more than 30 seasons under its belt, it is hard to believe that The Simpsons can keep returning to our screens and delivering entertaining storylines. Nevertheless, they continue to do it. Season 36’s premiere will focus on Bart’s birthday. His birthday party turns out to be a shocking event that might change the lives of everyone in Springfield.

September 29 – Bob’s Burgers
Even though Season 14 finished on September 22, Bob’s Burgers picks right back up with the premiere of Season 15. It is rare for shows to do this, but it is a gift to the fans who won’t have to wait months for new episodes. While Tina interviews Mr. Fond to help save her school’s new segment, Bob and Linda come up with plots of horror movies to entertain Teddy.

September 29 – The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon
Fans of The Walking Dead will be happy that Daryl and Carol’s story will continue on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride return to AMC to portray the iconic roles that gave this world’s fandom so much to talk about. The fight continues to protect everyone they love.

September 29 – Krapopolis
For Ted Lasso fans, the news of Hannah Waddingham joining the cast of Krapopolis was a gift after Season 3. They’ll hear their favorite British lady’s voice again on Krapopolis Season 2 alongside Steve Buscemi. The show’s return finds Tyrannis unable to control himself when a reporter visits, and an old friend also visits Shlub.
Krapopolis Season 2 premieres Sunday, September 29 at 9:30/8:30c on FOX.

October 2 – Where’s Wanda?
Although few people realize it, Apple TV+ offers a wide variety of TV shows that you shouldn’t miss. This October, the streaming platform will release its first German-spoken show. Where’s Wanda? tells the story of Dedo and Carlotta Klatt, two parents looking for their missing daughter. After the police fail to find any clues, the parents take her disappearance into their own hands and start spying on their neighbors.
Where’s Wanda? premieres Wednesday, October 2 at Midnight/11c on Apple TV+.

October 2 – Joan
If you like fictional stories about criminals, Joan might become your new favorite TV show. Sophie Turner plays Joan Hannington in Joan, the CW show about a mom in her 20s who is sadly married to a violent man (Frank Dillane). However, when her husband is on the run, she takes the opportunity to start over. Her starting over, however, looks quite criminal as she becomes a jewel thief.
Joan premieres Wednesday, October 2 at 9/8c on The CW.

October 3 – Law & Order / Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
The longest-running franchise is back this week with two new episodes. First, Maura Tierney replaces Camryn Manheim as the new lieutenant. This transition will be an adjustment, especially for Riley. Then, Mariska Hargitay is back as Olivia Benson, leading the squad investigating a terrible attack on a group of law students.
Law & Order Season 24 premieres Thursday, October 3 at 8/7c, followed by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 26 at 9/8c on NBC.

October 3 – Found
Found captivated viewers as soon as it premiered because of its story. The fact that a woman dedicated to finding people was keeping her kidnapper in her basement and using him to solve the cases was a brand new, mind-blowing idea. And it succeeded. Shanola Hampton is back for Season 2 amid her team’s chaos due to her revelation.
Found Season 2 premieres Thursday, October 3 at 10/9c on NBC.

October 3 – Heartstopper
At a glance, Heartstopper is just another teen romcom story. However, a deeper dive into the series proves it is nothing like expected. Yes, it absolutely is a teen romcom, but it is done in a way that no matter how old you are, you will want to follow the love stories between these characters. Charlie and Nick’s story is the kind of love we must see more often onscreen. For Season 3, these two teenagers will struggle to find a way to say the L word to each other.
Heartstopper Season 3 premieres Thursday, October 3 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

October 4 – Ctrl
In an era where most people share everything they do online, Ctrl shows that might not always be the best option. As it’s commonly done these days, the movie follows two influencers who are dating. The two of them share every detail of their personal lives and relationship online for an audience that seems to love them. However, things get complicated when they break up.
Ctrl premieres Friday, October 4 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

October 4 – It’s What’s Inside
Body-swapping movies have always existed. Some have been extremely successful, while others made viewers wish they’d never seen them. It’s What’s Inside hopes to belong to the first group. The movie follows a group of college friends who reunite before a wedding. One of the guests brings a body-swapping machine and suggests they all play a game. What could possibly go wrong?

October 4 – The Platform 2
Even though The Platform premiered a few months before the 2020 worldwide lockdown, many of us watched it for the first time while at home, hiding from COVID. The movie became popular quickly for its gruesome scenes and challenging lessons. The film happens in a prison tower where prisoners are rotated through the levels. The point of the rotation is that sometimes they’ll be closer to the platform filled with food, while other times they’ll be at the bottom and barely get leftovers. Netflix is now bringing the continuation to the story: The Platform 2.

October 5 – Autumn at Apple Hill
If there is one thing Hallmark Channel knows how to do, it is to get viewers in the seasonal mood. Although very well-known for their Christmas movies, they do a great job of delivering Fall-themed films, too. This week, they bring Autumn at Apple Hill to start the season. Erin Cahill is Elise, a woman trying to keep her family’s inn open. Wes Brown plays a CFO who checks into the inn for a few days. Is he there to relax? Or did business bring him into town?

October 5 – The Girl Who Wasn’t Dead
As usual, Lifetime is bringing true events to the screen again this week. The Girl Who Wasn’t Dead tells the story of Erica, a 15-year-old girl who had disappeared. Everyone in town believes she was another victim of the local serial killer. Everything changes when Erica shows up at her own murder trial, claiming to have run away with her boyfriend.
