Welcome to another edition of What’s New on TV! Two TV shows are returning one last time to say goodbye to their fans. Get ready because things are about to get good.

This week, Queen Latifah is back equalizing on The Equalizer even after losing half her team. Everyone’s favorite group of vampires is back to say goodbye on What We Do in the Shadows Season 6. A new Tyler Perry movie premieres on Netflix. And, attention Lower Deckers! Star Trek: Lower Decks comes back this week for its fifth and final season.

NEW ON TV, OCTOBER 20–26

October 20 – The Equalizer

The last time we saw Robyn McCall on The Equalizer Season 4, she was adjusting to the idea of doing the job without Melody while simultaneously saying goodbye to Dante. After the finale, viewers wondered if Robyn could do her job alone. Now that the show is back, the first episode will give viewers a look into Robyn’s new reality. Is it safe for her to continue equalizing alone?

The Equalizer Season 5 premieres Sunday, October 20 at 9:30/8:30c on CBS.

October 21 – Poppa’s House

Damon Wayans, Tetona Jackson and Damon Wayans Jr. are part of CBS’s new comedy series. Poppa’s House tells the story of a legendary radio host. Poppa’s always held on to his beliefs, but his adult son now challenges them. Contrary to his father, the son is still married and considers himself a responsible father and husband.

Poppa’s House premieres Monday, October 21 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.

October 21 – What We Do in the Shadows

It is never easy to say goodbye to a TV show, and sadly, fans of What We Do in the Shadows will have to do that after this season. Luckily, to start the season on a brighter note, Season 6 premieres with three new episodes. Guillermo will get a new job, Colin will help Laszlo make a new friend, and they will all argue for the empty room.

What We Do in the Shadows Season 6 premieres Monday, October 21 at 10/9c on FX.

October 23 – Family Pack

Even though it might feel as if not much is premiering this week, Netflix has a few things to keep an eye out for. One of them is Family Pack, a new original movie. The film follows a family that goes back to medieval times when an old card game comes to life. If they want to make it home safely, they will have to face some masked werewolves.

Family Pack premieres Wednesday, October 23 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

October 24 – Like a Dragon: Yakuza

Ryoma Takeuchi, Kento Kaku and Saki Takaoka lead Prime Video’s newest TV show, Like a Dragon: Yakuza, based on the hit SEGA game. Kazuma Kiryu prides himself on his sense of duty and the fact he has never lost a fight. However, now he sees himself involved in the underworld. Facing this new scene is the only way he has to protect his childhood friends from the orphanage.

Like a Dragon: Yakuza premieres Thursday, October 24 at Midnight/11c on Prime Video.

October 24 – Beauty in Black

One thing we know for sure Tyler Perry will do is deliver high-quality productions that will leave audiences talking about them for months to come. This week, his production company teams up with Netflix to premiere Beauty in Black. The film tells the story of a stripper who crosses paths with a wealthy family. The family is the ruler of a cosmetics dynasty and a terrible trafficking scheme.

Beauty in Black premieres Thursday, October 24 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

October 24 – Star Trek: Lower Decks

Star Trek has always found a way to live on for the fans to enjoy its glory in different versions. Star Trek: Lower Decks has been around for five seasons, giving fans a taste of their favorite story and characters through the animated series. Sadly, it is time to say goodbye to these characters as the series will end with Season 5. On the bright side, the final season premieres two episodes this week.

Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 5 premieres Thursday, October 24 at 3/2 am on Paramount+.

October 24 – Territory

All hell breaks loose in Australia when the largest livestock farm is left without a successor. Territory follows miners, landowners, cowboys and gangsters as they fight for the title and control of the largest business in the outback.

October 25 – Before

Billy Crystal, Judith Light, Rosie Perez and Hope Davis join Before, Apple TV+’s newest limited series. The show, which premieres two episodes this week, follows Eli, a child psychiatrist, as he starts treating a troubled young boy. As the sessions go by, Eli discovers a connection between the boy and his past.

Before premieres Friday, October 25 at Midnight/11c on Apple TV+.

October 25 – The Last Night at Tremore Beach

Netflix premieres another movie this week: The Last Night at Tremore Beach. In this movie, a tormented pianist is suddenly struck by lightning. After the incident, he begins to have visions about his future, implying a deadly threat surrounding everyone he loves.

The Last Night at Tremore Beach premieres Friday, October 25 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

October 26 – Mormon Mom Gone Wrong: The Ruby Franke Story

The 8 Passengers seem to be leading the perfect life on social media as Ruby navigates LSD-influenced parenting. However, things get complicated when Jodi, a marriage counselor, moves into Ruby’s home. Ruby’s husband is forced to move out, and viewers begin to suspect that Jodi and Ruby’s parenting style is bordering abuse. The abuse is confirmed when Ruby’s 12-year-old son escapes and is found with clear signs of abuse.

Mormon Mom Gone Wrong: The Ruby Franke Story premieres Saturday, October 26 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
