Ready or not, here they come. Today we got a brand new teaser for the What We Do in the Shadows TV series. Not only do we have a premiere date (more like premiere month) but we also get a great look at all of our new vampires. Did I mention that cake is involved?
In the teaser we see Nandor (Kayvan Novak) breathing heavily as fire crackles beneath him. Chanting wallows in the background as he looks hungrily at his prey. Well, his cake. Because it’s his birthday! The chanting is actually our vampires Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Nandor’s familiar Guillermo (Harvey Guillen) and an unknown character. They’re singing a very off tune and strange version of “Happy Birthday” for the ancient one. As they finish, Nandor tries to blow out his candles but only manages a hiss. He tries again but ends up lighting his arm on fire.

The comedy series will be coming to FX sometime in March, so we don’t have to wait long to see it. We know a little bit about the characters thanks to a description from Deadline. “Novak will play Nandor, the head vampire of the house. Berry plays Lazslo, the goofiest in the house, the type of vampire who turns into a bat and flies into a wall. Demetriou plays Nadja, the badass female vampire of the house. Guillen is believed to play Nandor’s assistant.” We’ll be able to see the three vampire roommates make their way around New York City in hilarious fish-out-of-water situations. I’m very much looking forward to it!
