Lucifer season five is upon us. And just in case you forgot what happened last season, GGA’s got you covered. Lucifer season four is available on Netflix. You can attempt to binge the whole season before this weekend, but if you don’t have time, then check out our recap.

Lucifer stars Tom Ellis as the the Devil himself, Lucifer Morningstar. Lauren German plays Detective Chloe Decker, Lucifer’s partner. They work within the LAPD and solve cases. Chloe uses her amazing detective skills, and Luci uses his… devilish charm. That devilish charm has worked on everyone except Chloe… until now. Chloe had started having feelings for Luci, but then she saw his devil face. And it scared her so much, she ran away to Rome.

Chloe consults Father Kinley in Lucifer.

When Chloe came back, she didn’t come back alone. Father Kinley (Graham McTavish) came with her. He was a big believer in a prophecy that said when the Devil finds his first love, evil will be released. Enter Eve (Inbar Lavi)… as in Adam and Eve. I guess you could say she was Luci’s first love, or at least that’s what Eve believed. She left Adam and Heaven to be with the Devil. As much as she tried to be everything he wanted, she wasn’t Chloe.

In related news, Amenadiel (D. B. Woodside) and Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris) found out they were having an angel baby. Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) appointed herself as head of security for Linda and her offspring, a boy. Maze also had to deal with Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) being mad at her. Trixie wasn’t mad for long, and they resumed their odd friendship.

Amenadiel dealt with a few issues now that he was to be a father. The first was the arrival of his friend, the Angel Remiel (Vinessa Vidotto) who wanted to kill the angel baby. Then there was the issue of being racially profiled. After that Amenadiel didn’t want his son to grow up in an ugly world. Amenadiel got over his issues and focused on being a good father.

As for Dan (Kevin Alejandro), he was still pretty upset about Charlotte’s death. At the same time, Ella (Aimee Garcia) was having a crisis of faith. She began questioning God’s existence. In dealing with both of their grief, they kissed. Yeah, it was really awkward and weird.

Eve and Lucifer at a masquerade in Lucifer

Anyway… Eve was so desperate to get Luci back that she killed Father Kinley and summoned a demon. That demon brought forth another demon, and that demon brought forth another demon and so on and so on. Until the demons were wreaking havoc on LA.

The demon asked Luci to return to Hell, and he refused. So the demons kidnapped Amenadiel and Linda’s baby. Their plan was to take him back to hell so he could rule in Lucifer’s place. No one was having that! Lucifer, Amenadiel, Maze and Eve teamed up to save the child and send the demons back to Hell.

Luci knew that the demons would keep coming. So he decided to return to Hell to keep them contained. This happened after Chloe finally told him that she loved him. Luci also realized that Eve wasn’t his first love, Chloe is. And that’s where season four ended.

Entertainment Weekly also asked the cast which episodes to binge to prepare for season 5. Click here to go to that video. You can also check out the recap video below, courtesy of Netflix.
